Over the years we have all been lied to by many false Religous Leaders and so called prophets. Many things we have been taught are not even in Scripture and millions have swallowed so many lies by these false leaders. If you are a truth seeker please visit the web site which is displayed in our user name and take the time to read some of the articles... You will be very shocked.
There is a great audio there for you to listen to. You will come away asking many questions.
All I have to say is I hope I'm never faced with this decision. But, if so, I also hope I'd have enough faith to die. I seen a dramatized play called House of Martyrs, and it really made me think about my life as a Believer. At the time, I wasn't really sure what I'd do, I mean people had to sit and watch their whole family be murdered and they still would not deny Christ as their Savior, what FAITH... WOW!!! Jesus, give me the Faith and courage that these people had, if I ever face martyrdom.

A mob killed Stephen. A mob killed Joseph Smith. Does being killed by a mob make a person a martyr and validate their beliefs? No, such an act just brings shame on those who commit it and does nothing to demonstrate the truth or otherwise of the beliefs in question. Often mobs kill people because they misunderstand the nature of the beliefs held, as in the murder and persecution of "witches in league with Satan" who were probably neither lovers of Satan nor followers of pagan religions either.

...I'm suprised you guys don't see the utter immoras disgust in the decapitation of matyrs....Let alone all of the other outrageous and sickening and wicked stories in the bible...You guys honestly cannot see the occult and unnecessary slaughtering oh human beings in the name of your god??? I think I'm gonna be sick...
evilnomad111... sadly when some people read the Scriptures they only see what they want to see. It is quite easy to convince yourself that the Bible is full of "outrageous and sickening and wicked stories" if that is what one is looking for.
i cannot see the "occult and unnecessary slaughtering oh human beings in the name of YOUR god" because it is not there. I emphasise the word YOUR because what you have written is YOUR view of god. I do not worship the god you describe.
maybe i am wrong and you did read the Bible without any bias, if that is so then i ask you you prayerfully read it again, focusing on the life of Christ as described in the Gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke and John.
i for a long time disgarded the Scripture and had similair views to yourself. a correct understanding of the Bible totally changed my perception of our Creator and now i have a peace of mind that nables me to cope with all of lifes problems. thanks for your comment.
First of all, I find it unsettling that a loving god would comdemn us to hellfire for crimes we did not commit, and from the fact that he created us sick, and commanded us to be cured. I find that highly unethical and unhealthy.
where does Scripture telll us that we are condemned to hellfire for crimes we did not commit? "he created us sick, and commanded us to be cured"? where do you get that idea from my friend?
Furthermore, just like in the old testimate where the amalachites were wiped out down to the last man, woman, and child, if god told me to smash a child's head in with a rock to fulfill his will, I'd have to tell him to find somebody else to do it....THATS true morality my friend, where you can stick to what is right, ethical, and rational even if god himself told you to do otherwise.....
As i stated in a previous post... read the Gospels for they are a revelation of God's character as expressed in the life of Christ. The destruction of the Amelakites was an act of mercy. As a nation they had become evil beyond measure and if their existance were prolonged much more sorrow than the sorrow felt at their destruction would have been the result.
Genocide as mercy killing? This is why religion is dangerous. All religion. It should not be respected. Religion has the power to make obviously evil actions (e.g. genocide) appear good. All religion should be treated with suspicion not respect because of this capacity to enable otherwise good people to do horrendous violent acts and think they were being as big-hearted as if they were rescuing drowning kittens.
Nothing else enable good people to do evil acts so joyfully, not even patriotism.
As Christians we should share our faith even if it causes our Death.Foxe's book of martyrs is an example of people sold out to Christ, mind, body and soul, those people are the excellent examples to us of how a Christian should live and die.We seldom see such conviction today, most of us are a stench in God's nostrils, myself included.
i do not know what happened to John and am not sure if there is any record of his death. whether he ascended like Enoch or is sleeping in the grave i hope to see him in the Heavenly Canaan aswell as you my friend
this made me cry with goose bumps. i have this strong feeling martyrdom will again happen to many Christians of today. is this gonna be our fate too? God help us.
i know. for purging fr sin right? i've probably sinned more than the apostles and done way much less work than they did. would it mean worse persecution?
only john went through it unharmed bec he stayed with Jesus 'til his death thereby proving his worth/faith much more.
Yes, in some muslim nations some of our missionaries already suffered martyrdom in defense of the faith and serving the living God, and No, not until the rapture of the church takes place. Unsaved people that will left after the rapture will suffer the great tribulation if they will refuse to mark their body 666 as what Jesus said in the book of Matthew 24 and Revelation. Nevertheless we have our own struggles in life, do not worry God will give us grace.
Beautiful!

@lazbo4174 I don't know about that...I refuse to believe that God would instruct anyone to kill babies..I believe the bible was tampered with.

9 Then shall they deliver you up unto tribulation, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all the nations for my name's sake.
10 And then shall many stumble, and shall deliver up one another, and shall hate one another
11 And many false prophets shall arise, and shall lead many astray.

The James in the video is not Christ's brother but His cousin, his mother being Salome, Mary's sister
lazbo4174 3 years ago
Labzo there were two apostles called James(see Mat 10:2, 3).
James son of Zebedee is not the brother of Jesus. This James was killed by Herod in 44AD(Acts 12:3).
The book of James was writen after 44AD so this James who was killed by Herod can't be Jesus' brother.
