If the Koreas unite, they won't make a much stronger nation than South Korea already is. Plus, SK would most likely busy rebuilding the north, much like Germany was busy rebuilding the East. So I doubt that's any kind of a problem for the US.
In my poorly documented opinion, the greatest obstacle for their union is the North Korea itself, especially their politicians who managed to create a zombie army out of the north koreans.

i rly hope i get to see korean reunification. if u think about it, its all of south korea against a few vicious north korean leaders. most north koreans actually want to join south korea because they r starving, have no access to internet or proper cable. they r completely isolated by their leaders and want to be free. if the two countries had a war their would be very little support for the north korean military and their interests.

This is the same thing that happened with Nazi Germany during WW2. Many of the German soldiers were good men who fought only for their country and families and not for the party.
They opposed the views of the party but they knew if they did not fight, their country and their families would be killed, opressed and raped. This happened when the Russians occupied Eastern Germany. This is the same thing with me.
I will fight for my nation and my family not the government.

That is the same thing that happened with many countries. The individuals felt that the PEOPLE who ran the country were wrong but they fought for the survival and presservation of their country.
Plus think realistically. Canada has never invaded another country for its own gain. We fight for freedom unlike our greedy neighbours south who invade whenever they feel like it.
If Canada is invaded for its lands or resources...I must fight no matter what the odds.
