I know its your opinion, and whatever I say will not affected it, but I think you were being WAY too harsh on Deathly Hallows. Then again, this is coming out of a fan who loves the final book.
my question to you is did you like the 8 movie because confused matthew loved the first six xbooks hated the last and hated dlh movie part one but loved the last movie with exption of the elder wand and the epoleg and a few other minor tihngs so is it possible the last half storey was good she just for whatever reasen lost the great wriing edge in the last sorrey it took a while to get to the question that was a little long winded
The last two movies were dissapointing dude, i agree with u completely. I love the series, i love the forth, fifth and sixed and third lol yeah but ur right, it builds up and then neble just kills the snake, the end. fucking dumb. they can never make a good ending to a great series. I mean look at starwars, return of the jedi was cool but the freaking ewokes lol cant anyone come up with the perfect ending
As for Ron running away, yes agreed in the movie it looked depressing and drawn out but in the book it did have a significance. It shows that friendship can be tried at times of difficulties but once they get their head straight they do come back and you do need them in times of difficulties.
As for you hating the ending, well yeah even though ive disagreed with u so far, I do agree the ending was stupid about how it was just about the Elder Wand.
@VindicatedxPurplex Yeah? Cuz i hadn't seen the movie till about a month ago I was talking exclusively about how bad it was in the book. It was some of the worst writing I've seen to just have a character leave then randomly come back at just the right time (again using hack dues ex machina writing as a way to make that happen)
Second, about Lupin and Sirius dying, well they were from the older generation and they had to go for the new ones to take over the fight. Plus, it was her choice to kill them off, too bad if it made you mad. It adds to the emotions and hardships of the books.
As for the 7th book being long, it's actually shorter than 5 & 6. & it holds many crucial information and explanations. There is no way to make one movie and put all that in. Had dey den so, people wudve complained the movies rnt detailed
@VindicatedxPurplex How does that make any sense? There wasn't a single sentence anywhere that even suggests that that was the idea. They were killed because they were people close to harry but not too close as to actually be important. Notice all the people who were extremely important from book 1 to 7 (Ron and his parents, hermione, Harry's classmates, even the Dursleys) all lived (the exception is Dumbledore but he turned out to be an evil scheming old man)
So 1st of all, you said in the 1st movie the hat was just a sorting hat and then in the 2nd it randomly got powers and that wasn't written in the 1st one. Well look, if every detail was gonna be put in the 1st book then it might as well have been one book rather than a whole series. You need content to put in a whole series and to make it interesting, you find out new things about the characters, objects and the story. It would get boring othwerwise It's called the element of surprise.
@VindicatedxPurplex Money has nothing to do with good. The Transformers movies made huge amounts of money and are some of the most bottom of the barrel garbage films ever made.
I am. It's called constructive criticism. It's thinking about and analyzing a piece of entertainment and discerning what is good and bad about it.
* SPOILER ALERT!! DONT READ IF YOU HAVENT READ THE LAST BOOK* i was soooooo pissed how Bellatrix died. Did it really need to be molly? Couldnt she think of anyone else to kill her! i.e. Hermoine, George, Harry,George. sorry mini rant over
@CycloBrady24 This applies to harry, too. I hate how he's portrayed as a paragon of virtue. He isn't and admits it. He hated being kept in the dark about everything, but understood there was a reason for him not knowing. You could argue that Dumbledore was being a bastard in regards to the prophecy, but even Dumbledore admitted he did it because he cared. Ron being an ass? Dude, most people would be asses, too if they had as many siblings as he did. He kinda earns the right as the youngest male.
I love Harry Potter, it's one of the greatest things from my childhood, I'd say my favorite book was either GoF or OotP, my favorite character was either Neville or Snape, I agreed with most of the things you said. You rule Eric.
hold on, why is harry directly in front of the train? it could easily run him over. anyways, the third is my all time favorite. i love Sirius and Lupin. i nearly cried when they died one by one. and the fourth WAS going to be made into a movie but they changed their mind. that's my two cents. or four, rather.
thank you for telling me the ending (no sarcasm) because I was all thinking the same ending too, but now that you told me, I don't have to get my hopes up :D
Sorry, completely disagree with the bad plotting thing. It's magic, anything can happen with magic. There was absolutely no reason for Dumbledore to say any extra powers the sorting hat had, but it had them and that's that. The second is my favorite of all of them. Potterhead talking here so my judgement might not count. lol
could you do a vid comparing the harry potter series to the twilight series i mean it would probly be pointless because harry potter is obliviously a better series butt still
I think that Ron's running away was important to the development of his character. Before he ran away, he was complaining and complaining. After, he took charge of the horcrux hunt while Harry obsessed over the deathly hallows.
After the series ended, J. K. Rowling gave a lot of background information (e.g. Weasley grandchildren's names, certain pairings, careers, et cetera). Harry became an Auror and ended up the youngest Head Auror.
Oh my God, I AGREE with you about the Epilogue! What you say and what I think are EXACTLY the same, even down to wanting to know what Harry's job is. I'm betting on Auror myself - it's what he wanted after all. Although, if there are no more Dark Forces, is there still a need for Aurors?
I hate Hermione as a character. Well she is better in the last three books but she is always right. She can´t do anything wrong. Jesus! That´s my biggest issue with the series.
It is pretty imaginative. At least JK Rowling had the guts to kill her characters- its a hard thing to do. The last book was really drawn out, but I guess JKRowling felt it had to be really long and epic- even if it didn't end that way.
i don't get how they got every where. just randomly they were in wales and there were goblins and i'm gonna skip 9 chapters now. yeah but that was weird the ending some one explain the part where harrys naked and dumbldore is sitting in a chair and a deformed baby is crying and dumbdlores a dead perv who likes crying babys and harry naked. explain that because every single book got worse and worse an i lost more and more intrest everytime so i don't know if i missed something someone explain it
@28145Greenlantern i think the crying deformed baby was supposed to be J.K rowling showing what would happen to voldemort if he died and returned there
think that the 6th and 7th books should have been edited down. the 7th for the forset crap. the 6th was slughorns memory. the reason is this: why couldn't dumbledoor get it himself why harry it just wastes a lot of pages!
Oh, you can find out what Harry, Ron, and Hermione do for a living if you check out wikipedia. J.K.Rowling gave lots of details in interviews on what happens to the characters. Like, Luna marries a descendant of Newt Scamander, Neville marries Hannah Abbott, and Cho marries a Muggle...oh, and I think it's really sweet that George marries Angelina Johnson and names his son Fred....wow.
Harry became an Auror. And head Auror at that. That doesn't seem right. I mean that's what he wanted to do. But he isn't really that good of a wizard. Mostly just alot of luck and Dues ex Machina
LOL I agree. All Harry knows is Expelliarmus. He never really bothered to study real spells, like Hermione. Hermione should've been head Auror, in my opinion. xD She saved Harry and Ron's butts millions of times in the last book....well, mostly through random stuff that she pulled out of her magical bag like Mary Poppins. O.o
Oddly enough, I wasn't upset when Lupin died. After Sirius kicked the bucket, I kind of figured that all the Marauders were gonna die before the series was over. The deaths I was really pissed off at were Dobby's and Fred's deaths...pointless and cruel. -_- Also, Hedwig's...why kill the owl? D:
But yeah, I'm a huge fan of HP. I've been a fan ever since the 4th book came out when I was 8 years old...nearly 10 years ago. O_o
Most of the deaths in book 7 seemed soly so she could say she's killed characters.
I've been a fan since I started reading them. Lets see 4 wasn't out yet. But the first three were. And I was in 2nd grade. So..................lets see. I woulda been 7 or 8.
Hey, I have a book recommendation for you that I think you're going to love. It's called The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins and it's about the government forcing 12 boys and 12 girls aged 12 - 18 (one from each of the 12 Districts in Panem) to fight to the death. It's a very suspenseful, action-packed book, so I think you're going to love it! I know I did.
Glad to see that you're a fan of the books. I do agree about the deus ex machina...pulling a sword out of a hat was a bit weird and that part was never really explained. Plus, the horcruxes came out of nowhere in the 6th book. I mean, the most crucial way to defeat Voldemort shows up right before the end of the series!
And yes, Sirius was an awesome character. I cried my eyes out when he died...I was a big wreck. xD
I thought Sirius's death was ok, I thought someone had to die in the 5th. But Lupin's death was too sudden and unexpected and way too many characters died. I thought the 6th was the best book.
