Did anybody else ever wonder ,how much it cost "we the people' to run congress for a year?. If we had a car that worked like that, we would have traded it in long ago.
As the sign says at the very end "This is just the beginning". Since writing this song, Occupy has grown to global proportions! How amazingly fantastic is that? We are ALL one voice! Looks like a part 2 of the song is in order.
Wonderful video, it is so important to get this message out there, we are all one, our struggles are the struggles of many here, there and everywhere, we need to be united...
A GREAT SONG up to about 3:15... I did cringe with the final lines.. and, now I see that several youtubers did too. I do wish the final lines would have been done much differently ... as inclusively as possible... Ideally, why not steer toward "earthlings" as one?
This is an awesome video and should let people know we are not alone! There are millions of us who are ready to take back America from the big banks and corporations!
@jmcguk I know and I really want to write a song that reflects the world involvement. This song came to me all at once and took this form. I fully recognize that this movement goes waaaay beyond US borders. I so appreciate that you not only watched the video, but you listened to the words and felt strongly enough about them to post this note...
@jmcguk ...I take your message seriously and hope someone will write a song that addresses the world. I don't know how the media works in other parts of the world. Are the people misrepresented?
Yes, things have really changed since the 80's. I am hopeful that more people will become involved in this movement and that we can begin the process of restoring the balance in this great country. Thank you for listening and for commenting.
I'm 73 and lucky to have been working during the years when the poor and middle class had a chance to get a good job and better themselves. I had a good affordable education without need of a student loan. Banks wanted your business and treated you fairly but all that has changed. My heart aches to see how we as a Nation have regressed since 1980. Opportunity for the poor and middle class has been usurped by the greedy 1%. Thank you Jackie and Judy for the great video. Go Occupy Wall Street!
Judy Winn gets the credit for the video. She took my words and created a beautiful and meaningful presentation which accurately displays the integrity and unity of this movement. I am so thrilled to work with her.
Same here, Jackie... you wrote a heartfelt and amazing song and it was a wonderful thing to find all of these images of remarkable people... the real people of #Occupy. Thanks for the kind comments everyone!
Lots of great photos. Nice job of tying photos in with the words and music. I can't believe the Apathy of America that has resulted in most of us being marginalized for the luxury of the few. This has got to change.
We were so proud to be a part of the crowd, with our gals from Chalice, occupying San Diego last Monday, when they performed this song. Well done Jackie, Judy and Kathleen!
YES!!! GO OCCUPY CHICAGO & ALL THE OCCUPY MOVEMENTS!
There WILL be an American Spring!

Um, "we" are AMerica, Ireland, England, Scotland, France, Spain, CHina.... etc. you see my point? Nationalism is not "one".
Other than that, lovely, lovely song.
