I remember one time, clear as day, Alex (on the Presto Tour) - I was front row, and some dumb security guard was standing in front of us blocking view shining his flashlight into the crowd. All of us up front erupted into cheers.

Considering I've met Alex twice before in person, he is a VERY nice guy. He came into where I worked to buy 2 light bulbs and when I realized who he was, he thought it was cool. I was 20 at the time (23 now) and he thought it was really cool that younger generations were such interested in Rush. Talked to him for a good 15-20 minutes about music and he went on his way. He is NOT a dickwad like most people would expect of a normal rockstar.

I was front row right in front of Geddy's keyboards in 92 for the RTB tour and right next to me was this dude who was so wasted I don't even think he was able to enjoy the show. Again, thumbs up, so Alex just nodded and kept playing away. 5 feet from me.

Michael used to be head of security, but apparently is no longer. Don't know why the switch, but got it on good authority from a crew member. New head is a guy named Kevin. It was this guy that tossed the offending fan because she was elbowing all through the front row trying to get pics, and almost starting fights in the process. I saw the security guy go to her and tell her it was time to go. Then I saw him look up at Alex and gesture "out?" with his finger. Alex nodded yes and out she went!

She was pretty toasted, for sure, and kept majorly bumping into another gal. The other person complained to security. Alex saw, and got Michael in the loop on it. And then she got a talking to. As soon as she forgot, and moved back to talk to the person in the center, they threw her out.
