can you tell me were you get all of the because im starting my own collection of them and i hope you could give me any sarting info email me at richpoop9@yahoo.com
Love seeing them outdoors. Do you keep them there all the time? What a great way to display. I started collecting when I was in high school in the eighties, but never very seriously. Too bad for me. I'm amazed at the money insulators make today. What could have been. When did you acquire most of your collection?
These are always outdoors with about 500+ others I have about 500 more inside most in the insulator room where most of the good ones are. I started collecting in the late sixties then quit in the early 70's. These are all from the last couple of years. The biggest part from a large collection of a retired lineman who needed to get rid of them.
I don't know where his collection is exactly, but here in California, if you want to keep your collection intact, or where you display it, you'll want to keep them indoors. What with all the gangbangers looking for a thrill out of destroying something, and the junkies who steal everything they can to get a fix, if you are a collector Anywhere in California, Please keep your stuff indoors. I admit they look best outdoors, but this is my advice from a fellow collector. Mike in Fresno, Ca.
@ATSFMike Since I live on an Island and it is a exclusive community with no crime to speak of I feel safe leaving them outside and have never had any problems. Thanks for the advise though.
This is a great line-up I hope you do not mind if I ask some questions. You show a CD162.1 that is very blue. It sits to the right of your CD135 Chicago "Diamond-groove." Is the CD162.1 painted/stained? Also I see it has no "New York" on the reverse, is it a Star insulator, or a Brookfield with an 00 (or OX) on top? Are the cobalt "Ginger-bread men authentic"? Which country used them?
incredible,thanks for sharing! from B.C

Got a Question for you..... What would an olive green insulator be worth?
ConsDigginVids 2 years ago
@ConsDigginVids I will pay $1,000 for a diamond groove in olive green.

@lbrewer42 The 162.1 is stained and has an OX on top. The gingerbreads are hand made by an artist from Langley, WA
