@azureisacolor They were starting to get a bigger stage. When they imploded they were opening the main stage AND closing the second stage on the Lolapalooza tour. Sad day.
I agree with all of you that believe this band was the most underrated band of the 90's; I was 14 years old and a freshman in high school when a freind of mine turned me on to these guys. It blew my mind! Great songs and melodies with a twist of meloncholy mixed into it. Ken Andrews had a spacy invision to the bands music and captured to a tee with the third album. Thank you for posting these videos; much respect.
My name is Jack Woodward. I've spent the past few years churning out music as fast as possible. Most cats record an album a year and call it a day. They deliberate on the shit that they're going to do before hand and deface the initial inspiration into obliteration. I try to capture it at the moment of conception. I don't question what I'm being told, I just write it down. Check out my music videos to hear the songs I conceived in this fashion.
Its kind of one of those things where the right people need to be present to make it a great event. Youve got the band but missing the right crowd. Wonder who they were playing with?? Bad Genre mix maybe??
Oh FAILURE, So Fucking Great! Saw Them On This Tour In San Francisco, And They Made The Walls Melt, and The Roof Blow Off Slim's! Greatest Loud Band Ever!
One of my all-time favorites! If you like, you can watch my cover from my videos. it's in a very crappy quality though.. But this song is just so awesome.. :)
the official Failure tribute album comes out this summer! It's called "The Nurse Who Loved Me". search failure tribute on myspace music. I got to cover "Muffled Snaps" on the album. I am stoked!
One of my favorite Faulire songs. Had the experience of hearing it live twice last week, in virginia and philly on Ken's solo tour. Anyone who can see him on this tour, do it! He's playing failure, ON, YOTR and stuff off his new solo cd. Also one of the nicest guys I've had the pleasure of meeting.
@fmbighair Ken Andrews (the guitarist/singer) use suspended chords quite a lot, as well as drop tuning on his guitars (E flat). Many songs use other instruments as well. He explains that in another video on here about the song "Stuck on You". That particular song has a distorted piano in it. Hope that answered your question! ;^)

And Stemage does a song on it right?
As much as I hate advertising on Youtube, I want to check it out now that you've mentioned it.

you bastard, i was supposed to go see Ken up in ATL. I'm very envious, lucky guy. I got to see Autolux twice in 2005 though, that was pretty awesome.

is there a keyboard player in this group or is it just the guitarists using "airy" effects? It seems like they ahve a lot of spacey songs?
