I understand your frustation, but you have to understand that because is call MMA doesn't mean.."Round one we Boxe" "Round 2 we Wrestl" "Round 3 we kick" and that we have Mix all, MMA you use whatever is more effective in a fight so ground fight is more effective, if boxe or Mua thai or Karate were more effective than you would see these styles more often. Still he did boxe than he went ground so he did mix a little.

Good strategy, as for stamina, he trained hard as hell with Bas Rutten and Randy Couture. I think he was shocked that some people qustioned him for not testing his stretfighter stand up credentials against someone that would test him,he took it to the ground, you could hear mercer say to him "People wanted to see us stand toe to toe, you took it to the ground", and maybe the critisism dented his all day bring it credentials in that he said he wanted to stand and bang but he went for the leg takedown knowing he might get ko`d if he didnt.
