Hi, I would like to ask you something. So, what if we don't put the saffron water? Is it okay to do it without it? After the pasta is ready, how much time does it take to cook when boiled? Finally, with the pasta machine that you used, you can only make the shape that you did? I don't know how it is spelled in English... I really like your recipes!
It's called LinguinE (with the sound of the e in Eggs) and same goes for Lasagne. I am Italian and I have never seen people using safron for making pasta. I know some use that when they make that yellow and green pasta, but people never do that at home. I bet it tastes differently, in a good way. By the way, you did a good job! Yay! Hopefully you know how to cook it properly too. Too many foreigners say they do, but they make terrible mistakes. :(
@aliceinwonderland348 how is Pasta cooked properly? I'm not Italian and I didn't even think that there are ways to cook it wrong :-P I'm curious to know if I made it all wrong my whole life :-)
@SissiEugenie LOL I've seen many people putting too little water too boil it, or even adding olive oil to the water (please, don't ever do that). Basically you have to fill in the pot with water, put a spoon of salt in it, wait for it to boil and only then put pasta in it until it's ready. I've seen people who put the water and the pasta at the same time. Terrible mistake! :D
@byrontalbott What I wouldn't do for a pasta roller.. My arms are sore from rolling out pasta but my italian roots stop me from store bought ;-) Great job on the video, would be cool to see some ravioli filling ideas ;-)
@MsChelseaGolightly I don't have a pasta roller but use a regular rolling pin.. It takes a little longer and a little extra muscle and also won't get quite as thing but it works just as well, then I just use a knife or pizza cutter to cut strands :-) I usually just end up making raviolis since its easier to cut :-)
Hi Bryon! I'm in love with your videos. I hope you could consider making a video on ''How to do Red Velvet Cupcakes with Frosting'' or '' Turkey Bacon Cheesy Crumble Pasta'' Thanks :-)
It's funny because you pronounce it like pARSEta like we say arse in the UK. And we say it like pASSta like you say ass in the US. Completely useless little fact there.
To waste less saffron fir just color, you can grind it in a grinder and use is in a powder form and you will only need a tiny bit instead if one table spoon!!!! It will give you as much color as long as its a good saffron .I'm Persian so I use saffron often and I know it is quite expensive!!!! Great video btw
@TrapusKatapult they're made of potatoes, but as far as I know, gnocchi are a first course like soup or pasta (an alternative), so imho pasta and gnocchi are two different things. I tried to find the right answer on the internet, but it's a bit confusing...;o). However, I stick to my "gnocchi aren't pasta" opinion, because they're made of potatoes. My definition of pasta may of course be wrong or the definition may vary from country to country. Italians will know....
@sabine0910 I'm Italian! Ahahah we use gnocchi as pasta of course, and maybe we call them pasta because they are made with the same ingredients + potatoes!
@sabine0910 Although gnocchi are not necessarily made from the same ingredients as pasta, they are still considered pasta even in italy and the italian culture and served is the same fashion as pasta, my Nonna makes gnocchi and I've grown up with it. I guess if you don't view it as pasta that's fine, but for most I think it is though it's "technically" made with potatoes.
@sabine0910 Excellent, it's all semantics anyway, I just really love gnocchi, it's like so addictive and amazing! All this talk of it and now I want some, NOM
@obannonkr@alwaysawesome54 You can technically, I mean how do you think they made pasta hundreds of years ago? That being said, it will take a lot more time and effort, and is probably not worth your time without a machine in my opinion. Also in my opinion, as for pastas like spaghetti/fettuccine, the quality of the dried version is so good nowadays, that it really doesn't make sense to make these kinds of pasta. Sheet pasta like lasagne and ravioli, are worth the time though.
I don't even care if he's married!!! He's gorgeous :P
