in 2000, not being really introduced to DVD video quality, seeing this little girl and her family on my TV with the PS2 I rented 3 days after its release, it was quite something. I still own that game and I love it! They should release an HD PSN version with the same music, retro feeling, we love that!
@Saestrol Is he sequel only released in japan. It has new cutscenes, remixed music, better graphics, new levels and a new VS mode with new stages and music. The VS com mode is awesome and very hard.
Man this game brings back memories. My friend imported this game along with a PS2 from Japan before the PS2 was released here in the states and I thought this + Ridge Racer 5 truly showed the full power of the PS2. I cried when I got my own lol
BTW, just bought this SEALED brand new on eBay for $9. Anyone who wants the last sealed copy a seller by the name of "p2p_games" has it.
This was like... one of the very first PS2 games. I always wanted to know what this game was like, and so I'm glad I saw this video. Great job lighting up the night sky with fireworks in this video.
This truly was one of the most underrated games of the PS2. I still can't believe that people still judge a game by how it looks, it really hits a sore spot with some people. But, this was and still is one of my favorite games of all time, even if the game is hard a hell.
@jzj1 Looks alone should have sold this game. How can any 4 or 5 year old not look at a demo of this game and not be fascinated? Or maybe an older person looking for a relaxing puzzler to pass the time? This is one of those games that can appeal to anyone looking for a fun, visually appealing, easy to learn puzzler.
Believe it or not, this was actually the first game Sony themselves ever made for the PS2, (There's Ridge Racer V and Tekken Tag, but Sony's only involvement was publishing those titles)
there's just something about the aura of first generation PlayStation 2 games that no other console has ever been able to match, they almost scream at you ''welcome to the new millenium'' :) *snivel*
fuck i remember this game. you know this game only started off as a test for sony to demonstrate the processing power of the PS2 when it first came out. the critical acclaim was so huge that sony decided to release it.
@mailliwenots oh man, TOTALLY. I would buy a PS3 just for that. now they have Wipeout HD Fury, which looks sick too. how much are PS3s? I want one now.
Well. This looks like one hell of a colourful trip. xD I understand how the game works and all (even if I never played it), but how exactly do you fail? If a flare falls off screen?
I'm creating a mash up of this and Fruit Ninja for iOS. Check out development by following my channel :)

When I first saw this, I thought it was something that referenced the vg consoles from the late 70's/Early 80's that had the word "vision" in them

i have UK version and yes, i come from UK
robloxman41 2 years ago
The US version is quite different to the JP/UK ones in terms of audio. The male (instead of female) commenter is one of them, so is the music.
The music for the US version never got a soundtrack release. I seriously think that that is a shame because it was actually well done.

Huh... I wonder why you dislike the game?
I mean, it seems simple enough, but perhaps it wasn't to your preferred tastes for an example?

Kind of like Vib Ribbon, there simple games but theres always parts of the game which make me lose and get annoyed with it.

Dinoracha 3 years ago
There is a Play Meter at the bottom left of the screen. Missing flares will cause it to decrease. If the gauge completely empties, its game over.
Exploding flares will fill it slightly. Hard mode makes the meter fall faster and fill slower.

People talk shit about this game but I Thinks it was one of the best and most underrated from the last gen just because the stupid media.
Glad to see people who likes this game
Anyway, thanks for the videos.

I never did figure out how this game is played, but I did remember wanting to buy it.
ShadowJacky 3 years ago
It's really simple. The in-game tutorial really explains the system well.
You can explode flares that are at least 3 of the same colour. That's the basic part of this game.

But if you ignore them, you're bound to loose the game in 15 seconds
(Good grammar for the win!)

(getting thumbs down for my previous statement ftl!)
gambitking128 3 years ago 4
that looks fun but complicated
myspaceforever 3 years ago
It's not that complex, BUT maintaining a good chain is. It's the only way to score big.
There are tutorials in the game, REALLY thorough ones that explains how the flares and explosions function.
