  • I like this.

  • MiaRossa also made subtitles for this film, in 2008. I'm looking forward to the translation of the second episode, though, as that hasn't been done yet!

  • Спасибо!

  • This cartoon looks old enough to be from the USSR but the concepts and the way people act seem very American. When was this produced?

  • this was produced in 1978

  • Thanks for the info.

  • That's the point - the cartoon pokes fun at how their behavior is weird for a typical Soviet Russian of those days, in a humorous way. To contemporary viewers, the plot was clearly unrealistic and just part of the comedy. But it did mark a shift in the portrayal of those Western values, from loathsome and cruel to cute and funny.

  • Thank you so much for this! I can't wait for you to subtitle more of those russian cartoons. They're great.

  • Спасибо! Здорово! :)

  • SPASIBO!!!

  • Thank you so very much for taking the time to do these. These are great cartoons! And you made the subtitles the perfect size!

  • Yes, I should have the second episode "Vacation in Prostokvashino" subtitled in a couple of weeks. Sorry, I've been busy lately.
