No, it won't mess up your line of sight. In fact once you have your proper sight picture and have zeroed your front and rear sights, you can lollipop the EOtech to your front sight post to save ammo when you go to zero it.
@Meinelpai Umm...no it wont. The Marines dry fire their ARs all the time during boot camp, and those still work fine. Unless there is a specific manufacturer's warning not to, I'm not sure what the stigma is about dry firing any firearm. From an engineering standpoint, the only difference between dry firing and live firing is a slower deceleration for the last 0.0625" of hammer travel. I have had a cheap Taurus for over 20 years I dry fire all the time, and still works fine.

Forget the S&W hand gaurds and add a Fail Zero!! You M&P will Love you for it, Trust me! You wasted your cash on the chrome BCG DPMS is garbage!!! Stay away from DPMS!
@scrateshooter I am not saying it is bad bro but DPMS can be real hit or miss. Please don't be fooled by all the hype about how good chrome BCGs are because it is just that. If you want to buy upgrades that really work and are worth the money I would suggest the fail Zero because it is 100 times better for the same price you paid for that chrome piece. It is very obvious that this is your 1st AR and I hate to see you use A DPMS on a M&P. You bought a nice AR, to nice to put crap in it!
@LoganLive09 I have one and I only have problems with cheap federal ammo. The CCI mini mags I use have not had a problem. I have about 5000 rounds through it.
Did you ever get an answer on replacing your stock to the veltor? All you need is the stock man, the buffer tube which the stock rides on stays in place. What you need to make sure is do you have a standard or milspec tube. Otherwise, the lever that you squeeze to adjust the stock, pull up on the front of it and slide it off the tube.

you don't need a chrome charging handle. It doesn't move when you fire. a chrome bolt is all you need. i just got an adam arms piston kit and thats clean enough for me.
@Airsoftsniperkid - im sure there are 1000s of guns that look like that, and fire a 9mm... An AR-15 can be chambered in many rounds... one thing kid, guns aren't really something you can judge by appearance. Unless you are close enough to see the bore, it could look like a bazooka and fire a .22

Jordan - the stock tube is otherwise known as a buffer tube. You should check with S&W to find out if the tube is "mil-spec" or "commercial". These tubes have different diameters. The butt stock must match the buffer tube. Hope this helps.
A good number of Stoner rifles have a bit of play. Do a google... you'll find some info on using a o-ring on the front pivot and accuwedge for the rear. Personally, I took a piece of hard rubber I had kicking around and trimmed it down to fit snug in my rifle, pretty much the same shape as the accuwedge.

Nice. You're right... the cleaning process is rather lengthy. I got my M&P15 last year and it is awesome. Our local police department uses the same M&P's.
Magpul CTR stock. It will slide right on your tube, just need to know whether you have a mil-spec or commercial tube. CTRs are great. VLTOR is good too, it will slide on your tube as well.
depends on what you want it for. mp5 is much more compact but you will lose alot of range and versatility in comparison to the m4. i own an m4 with a 16 inch barrel and its compact enough to use in your home but accurate well out to a few hundred meters
you can just buy the VLTOR buttstock. Just figure out if your tube is commercial or milspec and then buy the corresponding VLTOR buttstock. I have a commercial tube and bought a commercial VLTOR EMOD buttstock. Also, can you tell me what kind of EoTech you have. I am getting one this month and wanted to hear about yours and how you like it.
There are many out there on the market, just google "ar 15 gas piston assembly". You should also visit forums and see what people think about the assembly you are considering. That way you will hear both sides, the marketing side, and the consumer side. Good luck!
Good assemblies range from $300-$500. I highly recommend the Adams Arms assembly, it may be $500 dollars but it is well worth the money. I you don't readily have the money, you should save because this is a great investment!
I just purchased up my M&P 15 today. From what I can tell we both have the same variation With the Solid Front sight and the flip up rear. Do you have any issues of the front sight blocking your optics? Does it sit high enough to clear the front sight or are you looking throuht the front sights with the optics?
if you are looking for a new set up put a eotech 512 sight , grip pod for grip, magpul Pmag 30 round clip , Magpul UBR but stock, Magpul MIAD Grip has a 3 round hidden core.... grate set up
you can buy just the stock, it slips on just like the original, just be sure to get either the mil-spec diameter or commercial depending on your buffer tube size. i love my vltor e-mod, it's rock solid...
In most states you're allowed to carry a fully automatic, but only with a class 3 license. Which is a bit pricey. Semi-automatic is just as good in my opinion.
You need a class 3 license to sell full auto weapons, not to own them. If you want to own one you have to fill out forms with the BATFE, get a local LEO to sign the form, send it in and if you get approved you pay a $200 stamp tax.
Nice rifle. Couple of things to point out though. The M&P stock bolt carrier group(BCG) is already chrome lined, it just has the black finish applied over the chrome. All that new BCG is doing for you is looks. Second, even with the chrome BCG, the rifle needs just as much lube as before. The AR style rifle runs well with a generous amount of oil. Run one dry and you're asking for problems.

I have the VLTOR E-mod stock on my M&P 15T and LOVE it. If you go with a VLTOR that's the one I recommend. The Magpul CTR is a good choice as well. If I had chosen Magpul, it's the one I would've gotten. Also, the Magpul enhanced trigger guard is a nice little upgrade too. Very good reviews overall, brush up on your parts nomenclature a little though.

yes a Vltor stock should work just fine. will have as much wobble as the standard stock. If you want less/no wobble, go with a magpul CTR

you should think about getting a gas piston assembly, If you want to clean less. It comes with a lot of benefits!

There are many out there on the market, just google "ar 15 gas piston assembly". You should also visit forums and see what people think about the assembly you are considering. That way you will hear both sides, the marketing side, and the consumer side. Good luck!

Good assemblies range from $300-$500. I highly recommend the Adams Arms assembly, it may be $500 dollars but it is well worth the money. I you don't readily have the money, you should save because this is a great investment!

first off, the chrome doesnt require less cleaning it just makes your cleaning easier.
Secondly the Vltor stock does not require a new buffer tube

I just purchased up my M&P 15 today. From what I can tell we both have the same variation With the Solid Front sight and the flip up rear. Do you have any issues of the front sight blocking your optics? Does it sit high enough to clear the front sight or are you looking throuht the front sights with the optics?

if you are looking for a new set up put a eotech 512 sight , grip pod for grip, magpul Pmag 30 round clip , Magpul UBR but stock, Magpul MIAD Grip has a 3 round hidden core.... grate set up

you can buy just the stock, it slips on just like the original, just be sure to get either the mil-spec diameter or commercial depending on your buffer tube size. i love my vltor e-mod, it's rock solid...

In most states you're allowed to carry a fully automatic, but only with a class 3 license. Which is a bit pricey. Semi-automatic is just as good in my opinion.

You need a class 3 license to sell full auto weapons, not to own them. If you want to own one you have to fill out forms with the BATFE, get a local LEO to sign the form, send it in and if you get approved you pay a $200 stamp tax.

Nice rifle. Couple of things to point out though. The M&P stock bolt carrier group(BCG) is already chrome lined, it just has the black finish applied over the chrome. All that new BCG is doing for you is looks. Second, even with the chrome BCG, the rifle needs just as much lube as before. The AR style rifle runs well with a generous amount of oil. Run one dry and you're asking for problems.

where did u see it has a burst shot setting?i have this same rifle,just diff model (m&p15 or),and there is no burst setting.just safety and fire (semi auto meaning 1shot per pull of the trigger).and full auto is not illegal depending on the state u live.yes they are trying to take our guns but they are not illegal in the u.s.please inform urself.he is not hold a triple switch full auto rifle,assualt rifle or an illegal rifle.simply a semi auto 1shot per pull of trigger sporting carbine.i have 1

I have the VLTOR E-mod stock on my M&P 15T and LOVE it. If you go with a VLTOR that's the one I recommend. The Magpul CTR is a good choice as well. If I had chosen Magpul, it's the one I would've gotten. Also, the Magpul enhanced trigger guard is a nice little upgrade too. Very good reviews overall, brush up on your parts nomenclature a little though.
