Great stuff Diana thanks for posting and best to DJ. If you get a chance look up the Residents version of this tune-needless to say it has a few twists!
another beatiful montage,,, i too love the ol' dee's clown since i grew up as an slc punk rockin' X behind the zion curtain.. Big up to brad from raunch who played "phones off the hook" on krcl in the early 80's,,I taped it and it blew my little utah mind, was hooked on X ever since!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
But come on, Exene and John are like fire and air, like coffee and pie, like..whatever 2 things that go perfectly with eachother. And Dave just might be the finest guitarist on the planet.
First time I heard this song was in 95. I was listening too a college station. The DJ would play a bluegrass song, then a speed metal song. The similaritys were interesting. The DJ called himself Rank Stranger.
Did a wonderful job on this beautiful song.

Gorgeous song. Extraordinary band. The heart of music can be found in the souls who inhabit this band.

It was a suprise for me to see a photo of the old Dee's Restaurant in Provo, Utah in the montage. Twenty-five cent hamburgers!

Albert Brumley wrote Rank Stranger but it's The Stanley Brothers what made it famous
