It's really hard to compare the two, because they both have COMPLETELY different singing styles. I think both sing it beautifully but personally I think When You Wish Upon a Star is a classic and should be sung that way, so for this song, my vote goes to Julie. But by no means does that mean that Christina isn't absolutely spectacular. =]

Julia Andrews on the other hand sings it with innocence without over complicating it. And she adds enough charm and sweetness to be enjoyed.

for me I dont like Christina b/c shes a misapplied use of talent. she attempts to be a soul singer in the vein of Aretha Franklin, but she has a small sound, thats very harsh and grating. she tends to yell, and doesnt use the melisma to thread through the chord progressions, she just hollers.
she is capable of being very good, Mans World, Hurt, Porgy, and Marmalade, but beyond that she usually makes a mess, instead of succeeding at what shes attempting. if shed just control herself shed be ok

In the video of "when you wish.." from Julie's JAH, she sings the song in a key than Christina can DREAM of attempting. Julie hits a full high B-flat. Christina next to her would be blown to pieces with sound. Julie is a singer trained by legendary Madame Stiles. Comeon guys STOP comparing a LEGEND to a regular pop star.End of Story.
