However there was not a mix up with his food...the first story with the iced coffee was the employees fault for not double checking like she should have, instead she paused and then assumed, and the second story he payed the MANAGER at the desk, assuming that person worked to achieve that position, receiving a $50 bill should be quite easy to compute. Not many people go into a burger king and whip out a 50. I'm sure working in that sort of place is stressful, but those mistakes were rookie. :P

What I've learned when ordering of these places, is to go inside.
I'm not saying that everyone who works there lacks common sense, and has the brain of a frog, but I find that when I go inside I eliminate all the problems.
I know what you're going to say, what's the point of going inside when you can go through the drive thru.
Well, you had to go back, so you had to waste gas. Plus going inside saves gas.
I get screwed at fast food drive-thrus all the time! I hate when they forget the straw, napkins...little things like that. Now I keep extra's in my glovebox in my car.
However, let's say you were to do 4 double shifts and 2 regular shifts in a week which I have done (around 60 or a little more hours in a week). And it was a busy week. You had to be at work at 6:00am everyday. You had dumbos who simply did not show up for work meaning that you had to do twice the work. Then by the end of that week you might understand better how things happen. Sometimes it is just a simple mental slip. Those things happen to everyone. It is not always intentional.
So, yeah, you are the customer and you deserve better than what you usually get. I understand. You are right, the whole trip to a place like that is not supposed to be a whole event that takes a chunck out of your day. You are supposed to come and get what you want and be able to leave with no problems. I am just letting you know what goes on at the other end of the stick. And also that whole thing with the fast food stereotype. And that there are some decent people in fast food.
It is very tiring especially because I have to work with people who don't care and are just rude stupid and lazy people to begin with. You always have to make up for the work that they are not willing to put forth. And you have to suffer through the problems they create with the customers just because you are working too.
There are people who are trying and who have a lot going on in their lives. There are exceptions to the stereotype. I am an example of this. I am going through culinary school. This is my supporting job until I start my apprenticeship. I work around my school schedule. I do about 15 credit hours and 40 hours of work a week. Sometimes I work 11 or 12 hours a day. I am always up early. I usually get in to work between 5:30am and 7:00am.
I have worked at the sonic for almost 4 years. I know exactly what Jeffrey is talking about because I work with people who are like who he had do deal with. Sometimes, people in fast food are not the smartest or the nicest. It is a shame because there is really nothing inherently wrong with fast food. It is all just a stereotype that is sadly true more than it is false.
However, I don't like it when customers are quick to judge employees because it is fast food.

Well, I didn't know that they screwed up my order (they gave me the original chicken sandwich) until I got home since they both cost the same. Well, I took it back, they apologized, let me keep my fuck up and gave me my right order! ...

yes, you are right in being angry! I went through a silmilar experience at arbys a few days ago. I got my order got home (like a 10 or so min drive) and they totally screwed up the order I didn't get 2 things that I ordered then when I went back they were all pissy about it and I had to wait 10 min for my food, no sorry, no would you like.. nothing, I was so pissed. That's kinda what happened with my mom today at the A&P. She was exchanging some things and she was supposed to get 10 dollars back but the lady didn't give it to her so she was like "I'm supposed to get 10 dollars back." and the lady was like "I gave it to you." and then my mom was like "No you didn't." So then the lady called the manager and they had to recount all the money in the register and so my mom got her 10 dollars because the lady was wrong and didn't give it to her in the first place
This is why I have not eaten at McDonalds in 3 years. It has not been easy as I love the fries and the breakfasts. However my arteries have thanked me. However I am surprised with how helpful Burger King was. Still avoid the place though!

I feel your anger! I have the same routine every time I order at Burger King. I do it like this I would like a whooper ketchup only large fry and a large Dr. Pepper to go. today I went to McDonalds drivethru, and the guy handed me the drink, but the lid wasnt on completely, and when i grabbed the cup the top popped off and Coke spilled all down my arm into my coat. SHITTY. and to make it worse, the guy was like "oooooh......that sucks...." and I was like NO SHIT it sucks, can I have some napkins please? and he's like "ya, they're in the bag...." freakin' douchebag.

omg ik whatt you mean ! one time i gave mcdonalds a $20.00 bill and got a coffee and they gave me like 3 dollars back. and then i went back and they had to count the cash machine thing. it was sooooo annoying. =p

yes, you are right in being angry! I went through a silmilar experience at arbys a few days ago. I got my order got home (like a 10 or so min drive) and they totally screwed up the order I didn't get 2 things that I ordered then when I went back they were all pissy about it and I had to wait 10 min for my food, no sorry, no would you like.. nothing, I was so pissed. So yes, you are right in being angry and having it happen in 2 days damn! *hugs* :) Liana

That's kinda what happened with my mom today at the A&P. She was exchanging some things and she was supposed to get 10 dollars back but the lady didn't give it to her so she was like "I'm supposed to get 10 dollars back." and the lady was like "I gave it to you." and then my mom was like "No you didn't." So then the lady called the manager and they had to recount all the money in the register and so my mom got her 10 dollars because the lady was wrong and didn't give it to her in the first place

This is why I have not eaten at McDonalds in 3 years. It has not been easy as I love the fries and the breakfasts. However my arteries have thanked me. However I am surprised with how helpful Burger King was. Still avoid the place though!

I feel your anger! I have the same routine every time I order at Burger King. I do it like this I would like a whooper ketchup only large fry and a large Dr. Pepper to go. There first question to me is you want cheese on that. I say no thanks KETCHUP ONLY please, then there second question is you want to large size that I say yes I do thanks for asking, then there third question, is this for here or to go. I say I thought I said to go but maybe I didnt but yes to go.

I've been the person on the other side of the counter, and the only thing they should have had to have done was check with someone else to make sure they see they were not stealing the money they gave to you and write a note. Thats what we did at my old job

today I went to McDonalds drivethru, and the guy handed me the drink, but the lid wasnt on completely, and when i grabbed the cup the top popped off and Coke spilled all down my arm into my coat. SHITTY. and to make it worse, the guy was like "oooooh......that sucks...." and I was like NO SHIT it sucks, can I have some napkins please? and he's like "ya, they're in the bag...." freakin' douchebag.
lesson: make sure the lid is on before you grab it.
