Maybe not as explicit Buddy Diddley's not fade away, but still. These connections, themes and variations make a small world awesome. R. Meltzer says that every song on Bringing it All Back Home are "Memphis, TN." So, depending on how u look @ it. Melanie's isn't "completely" different: they're peas in a pod.

I grew up listening to the stooges, MC5 etc.. then moved with the times and experienced the alternative/grunge era of the late 80's and early 90's and still love it all.. i found one new band i like named 'dirtee doggz' on myspace- i think thats how they spell it and i think they have that alternative feel but with a fresh kinda sound making it there own. Maybe we can all start a NewAlternativeRevolution!

wow, youre lucky to have been alive for all that. i wish i was. i was born in the nineties, so alternative music is kinda in my blood. i think what's happening is a sort of rebellion against formulaic music - so people are blending the energy of old punk and grunge with other styles. in toronto, where i live, there's this insanely cool underground ska-core scene. all the's scruffy kids playing hardcore punk but with a ska beat. the spirit is still there.

b/c bands are hooked on money and not quality. I miss real "guts" music, not "whats' hip". Bands nowdays are so polished and pretty, even rock is'nt rock anymore. If you dont look good and wear brand name clothing youre not worthy of attention. Hate it. Miss ballsy bands like this, and real punk rock and grunge.

Sad that justin beiber who can bawl and whine in songs about infant issues is mainstream for preteens, and we got something with real emotion & passion

aaarrgghhhh, justin bieber is so freakishly popular here in canada. i'm so sick of hearing crappy autotuned committee-written fluff passed off as good music. hip hop is so ridiculously dead, which sucks, cause there's tons of great innovative rappers who don't get noticed.
