  • This was my favorite show at Universal when I was younger. I wish they'd bring it back.

  • Nice!

  • omg ok i was here when i was 5 and that clown always freaked me out i guess thats why im so scared of them now XD im so stupid

  • ah the good ole times at Universal Studios.

  • if someone asks you "are you a god" you say YES

  • Thank you for uploading this. One of my fondest but fuzzy childhood memories became much more vibrant aftrr seeing this. Overcone with emotions! They need to bring some of the stuff when I was a kid back! The world changes too much too fast, and its too late once you realize it!

  • I never saw this version before, but I love this. It's better than the second version i saw twice.

  • @SuperNintendoBoi They better not replace E.T. anytime soon! It's one of my favorite rides at Universal. A visit there is not complete without it.

  • Did she learn nothing from Ray and Winston? When someone asks if you're a god, you say YES!

  • Ghostbusters show do have some great effects man.

  • wow she was wrong. gb2 came out AFTER the real ghostbusters!

  • I remember this! does anyone remember the smell of marshmallow fill the audience at the end

  • why do they get rid of there good shows/rides and put up bullshit ones like the simpsons (back to the future) the mummy (king kong) tho i love that ride so it dont count but they keep jaws and e.t wtf

  • @Baller22 actually et is gone and no one is gonna miss it and the mumy is still a fun ride. and jaws? let's pray that one NEVER leaves, it's a classic!

  • @josejalepeno63 i forgot bout this lol idk why i put simpsons and mummy as bullshit rides i love them thats wierd jaws is just 2 old and broken and what did they replace et with

  • @Baller22 i forgot what they replaced et with

  • I don't know if you guys knew this, but there was supposed to be a trackless Ghostbusters dark ride that was originally intended for Universal Dubailand. Now that the Dubailand project has been scrapped, maybe they can put it in one of the US parks. ;)

  • omg i loved this when i was a kid :D

  • Just like I remember it.

  • That was a SEROUS BLAST from the past....Thank you SOOO much for posting this! I only got to see that once, but let me tell you, It was GREAT to see it once more! I first saw it when I was about 5-6. I'm 20 now, so Thanks!

  • Im believing Universal could bring it back since they're making a ghostbusters 3...

  • everytime my mom picks up the phone and starts tipping in the phone number that shes gonna call and my dad says who are ya gonna call? and then i yell GHOSTBUSTERS!!!!!!! and my mom and dad start starring at me like wtf?

  • Great use of Pepper's ghost!

  • Why they got rid of these shows I would like to know... honestly, I think Unverisal Studios, Florida would be awesome with these shows.

  • aaahhh.....the 90`s........the good old days of universal studios florida

  • God DAMN that clown ghost is one scary mo'fo.

  • hey you know who was the ghostbusters at this thing?

  • that is so cool

  • These shows are always so delightfully corny.

  • I was like 5 years old when I saw this I only remember parts of it...that's why I'm you tubing it lol.

  • I'm sad now because I never got the chance to Go to that and I was at the park. It was just too long of a line.I'm still kicking myself for not waiting in line.

  • Marshmallow man! LOL This is awesome. They should definitely bring it back for like, HHN or something.

  • Man, I miss this so much.

  • shity

  • Man i would of loved this

    good ol slimer

  • I loved this show and I actually saw both versions of the show. But can anybody tell me exactly all the lines that Gozer says in this show because I can only understand some of the lines that Gozer says, but not all of them. I would greatly appreciate it! Thanks!

    -Justin :)

  • I went to universal studios a couple of weeks after this video was made! I can't remember seeing this though, I saw the Back to the Future One twice

  • i remember this show...i loves this so...now its twister...

  • Of COURSE not! Their calendar is packed, they can't participate in such a show, plus their agents wouldn't let.

  • this was great, i remember going in about '95, i was only about 8 but i loved it, i got Egons autograph aswell, lol

  • I remember having a lot of fun watching this as a kid. I thought it was a cool getaway from the rides at Universal. Nothing like sitting back and watching the Ghostbusters kick some ass on stage.

  • Yeah mate,i see your point i would im sure of it liked it as a kid,i know people need to make money but come on

  • It definitely is cheesy enough. I think I just loved the special effects as a kid.

  • Ghostbusters 3 is in the works now!

Bill Murray has signed on finally.

  • memories of vacations past! ha! thanks for posting this!!!

  • is live or is a video?

  • Wow... I definitely think I was there... in March of 92... could have even been the same performance... I was 7 years old hahaha

  • God, this was only a few months before i was born. Typical 90's, but Ghostbusters is still awesome.

  • GHOSTBUSTAAAAASSSS!!!

  • thanks for showing this to everyone

I saw it live years ago

    lots of fun memories

  • After seeing this for the 500th time, I've come to the conclusion that is definitely Maurice LaMarche doing his best Bill Murray impression for Peter Venkman.

And obviously it's also him performing as Egon but that one's very obvious.

  • I wish I saw this......

Anyway, I think I know all the ghosts that appear on stage: clown, wild banshee, Jail ghost, Zuul, carriage ghost, and three headed "maggot".

  • Got some more to add if you've seen the newer one: Lizard (one that winston zaps) and ghoul face (venkman zaps).

  • Correction to the one venkman zaps: its actually a red demon in the "upgraded" version of the show.

  • "this show" has been over and with for 17 years.

You act as if it's still around.

  • ugh look don't talk to me like dat

  • sorry to school you like that but you deserved it.

  • It was cute when Slimer said bye-bye to the people in the end.

  • wow. thanks for putting this up, I saw this back in 1991 and always wanted to see it again! I remember the first time I saw it I thought it wouldn't stay around too long (or get re-hauled) because the effects were so poorly executed. I remember clearly seeing the black crane mechanisms from the reflected neon light from the laser streams. Could you imagine opening the show now with the "musion eyeliner" technology (like in Disaster)? Bring it back!

  • ya i wasnt around for this or kong and i wanna see them

GAH i cant wait for the rockit to opedn

  • Kong was amazing xD Ultimately replaced by the Revenge of the Mummy which is probably one of my favourite attractions of all time!

Unfortunately I doubt I'll get to return there anytime in the future, but the memories will live on!

  • dis video jus made me die(wha?itz waz so corny!)

  • Egon sounds like the Egon from the cartoon series "The Real Ghostbusters".

  • I noticed that. Maurice LaMarche voiced him on the cartoon, which didn't end until 1991. I wonder if they actually used him for this, but then why not use the rest of the cartoon's cast, too? I wonder.

  • did they have the real guys doin the show

  • NO.

  • no, just amature actors. Universal Studios Theme Park couldn't pay the actual actors. They'd go broke after 3 showings lol

  • there was only one flaw about the

stage show is that the female actress

is not waring the sexy red demoness

dress that sigourney weaver had on

in the movie but gozers temple needed

to be authentic just like the one used in the movie but great show though.

    frankie smales

    (gb fan/the daily krypton)

  • An example of an unskilled presenter not carrying the live end of the presentation.

  • Twister sucks why did it replace Ghostbusters?

  • because sometimes that theme park

studios like universal had to make

room for bigger and better attractions

so they had to draw the final curtain

    on some attractions so ghostbusters

was the casualtie but it maybe still around

in the other universal theme park studios

    does that answer your question.

    frankie smales

    (youtube movie guru)

  • Bustin' makes me feel good!

  • That's definitely Maurice Lamarche as Spengler and the guy doing Venkman sounds like Dave Coulier doing Murray, a secondhand impression.

  • i fuckin can't wait for ghostbusters 3!

  • both dan aykroyd and harold ramis is currently penning a script for the movie in which it will be schedualed for 2010 but for uk viewers the game is released in spring the fall of 2009 in conjunction with the 25th birthday of ghostbusters and both movies is allso willbe released on bluray and this year the first film on the limited edition usb pendrive in mark of the movies birthday. frankie smales (gb fan/ youtube movie guru)
  • baillin

  • What kinda dingleberry puts the date and time on the video!

  • Brings back many memories of my trips to Universal Studios in Florida during May/June 1993 and during February 1995, shame they got rid of this show, I know they got rid of Kongfrontation too and others.

  • Wait they got rid of Kongfrontation too!!!?? I've been gone 6 years and it's beginning to sound like I don't want to visit it ever again. BTTF is Gone, (I know that ghostbusters has been gone) and Kongfrontation and ET. What's left to go to Universal for? T23D??

  • T2 is still there. at least it is in Orlando. I dunno about California.

  • The E.T. Adventure is still there.

  • Kongfrontation was burned to the ground in the fire at the park.

  • That was in LA, the Universal Orlando Kong ride was taken down for The Mummy ride

  • This looks much better then crappy Twister

  • Now that I see this again, its very cheesy...if they bring it back, because the last time I went to Universal I wrote a letter at guest services, but if they do bring it back they can work on alot to make it not gay like the old one. xD

  • Gay, dude? How was it in any way Homosexual?

    Use your words wisely.

  • If I wanted to say its Homo I would.

Im sure you know thats not the gay I mean.

  • No one outside of 1988 used "Homo"

2 dudes giving each other massages is gay.

The spooktacular might be lame, corny, cheesy even but not gay.

    This isn't South Park.

  • This ridee is so wonderful and universal was stupid to get rid of it (:

  • Nehhhhhhh!!! i wish it was still there i love the ghostbusters!!!!!

  • i worked at this show.....i pissed off the ghostbusters acors because when it would break down i would entertain the audience..so they made the actors come out instead...everybody started leaving because they sucked....i told the manager....at least when i did it.....people laughed...not left...lol...i worked there from the opening till 95 when i had some problems with management over my ad libs at the hitchcock show...the script was lousy but they wanted conformity....i quit

  • i only went on this once in 1995 when i was 2 and this is the first time i've seen it since

  • "What Ray? What just poped in there?"

  • Harry potter is wonderful, but put him somewhere else.

  • Don't get me wrong,I worship Ghostbusters, but why is it called a comedy? I've always thought of it as a fun fantasy movie. While it has a little comic releif here and there, not once have I ever watched the movies or cartoons with the intention of laughing.

  • To answer your question, RalfsLab, Dan Akyroyd, Harold Ramis and various others did this movie not only because they wanted to, but to prove that sci-fi, special FX, and comedy could all be wrapped up into a film. I gotta say though, it still is one hell of a good movie! Two thumbs up!

  • this doesn't look very fun....they should put a ghostbusters ride..don't u think it would be more fun....

  • this brings back so many memories. thanks for posting this.

  • EvilBitch+Ghostbusters=OWNED

  • is there a ghost buster ride in any of the universalstudio theme parks?

  • Not anymore :(

  • sorry, dude. it closed on Nov. 9, 1996. it bummed me out too. i only got to see it once when i was 2. i cherish the video that my dad recorded of this show.

  • not anymore. Universal Studios failed to renew the rights to use the characters around 1996 and had the show replaced by "Twister: Ride It Out!". Shame that I only saw this show twice when I was 2 years old, but I've got it on tape and stored it on a DVD!

  • I'm irritated that Ghostbusters is gone as well. Man I miss the old days.

  • Me too. I personally think they should get rid of Twister and bring this ride back!

  • @rockerapple13 It was only a show

  • God Bless America!

  • When someone asks you if you're a god you say YES!!!

  • Lmao this was fun! I loved this. =) Thanks for sharing. Ghostbusters for the win! (Did anyone notice at the end; One of the actors sounded like Falco Lombardi from Star Fox? o_O or is it just me?)

  • No your all wrong people because Ghost Busters was never in Universal Studios!

  • whens someone asks if your a God you say YES!! ahaha

  • This wasn't taped on March 12,1992 bull shit!

  • God This is lame

  • wow! That's some pretty good use of the classic "pepper's ghost" illusion! I wish I could have seen it myself live!

  • Oh God im having douche chills. I remember seeing this in 92 but it wasnt this version it was Mach 2 that was in August.

  • I really like the guy who was Venkemen. That's a good Bill Murray impersonation.

  • Agreed, Harry Potter doesn't deserve the spots of great attractions.

  • Twister took this ride's place. Harry Potter will be at IOA.

  • dude, come one.

    its harry potter!

    its worth it!

  • What?!? they took out Ghostbusters & "back to the future" for "harry potter" WTF??? XP

  • I had completely forgotten about the Ghostbusters attraction at Universal. What is in its place now? I forgot where exactly in the park it was located.

  • TWISTER IS.

  • oh i do remember this

    loved it

but twister is my fav movie therefor fav ride

  • drunkenlilTIFFY1990 is was rele awesome. cuz i went and they had awesome rides . u hv to go

  • MAR.12.92 PM 12:24

  • 92, 1 year after Terminator 2 and one years before Jurassic Park

  • wow brought back memories.....man i miss this show

  • verrryyy coool!

  • Was this show viewed from a screen placed up high in the air. What was the shows format? Screen or Live?

  • The screen is used to actually create the Pepper Ghost effect ala the ghosts at the Haunted Mansion.

  • what the heck? i wanna go! it sounds better and more better rides in the universal in cali

  • wer the sound u dum sod

  • I remember watching this a long time ago for a few times. I don't really remember much, since I was in elementary school, except the giant marshmallow, slimer, the steps, and the actors. Haha.. Wish this was still here.

Now, I only have the movies that serve as reminders of this one great show.

  • make a new one universal!!!!!! now! take out twister!

  • Universal no longer holds any rights over the Ghostbusters. They let their contract run out a few years ago and the Ghostbusters ended their stay in the park with Extreme Ghostbusters and Beetlejuice.

  • i am aware of this but i still would love to see another one though!

  • I did not know that the beginning was changed. When I first saw the attraction, the beginning was different that there was volunteering and all that.

  • There were two versions of the show. This is the original show. The second version of the show (the one you saw) is on YouTube too.

  • i don't quite see what makes this so great.

  • This was the show they had when they were still building the GB show: Someone talking BS and doing a routine with Slimer, until things get outta hand. After the show was completely built, The talking lady was replaced by a Louis Tully actor giving out a sleazy seminar which gets interrupted by a Walter Peck actor, who releases the ghosts and all hell breaks loose. For a live show, this one had the best special effects I've ever seen.

  • nice show shame about the acting

  • nice job. its a real shame they take out all of the classics. =\

  • This show was infinately better than the Twister show.. perhaps the lamest attraction at universal studios.

Thanks for posting this, brings back some great memories!

  • Great, never saw it until today

  • I'd love to see it.

  • oh the good old days.

  • The guy who plays Egon sound un-cannily like the voice of Egon from the series The Real Ghostbusters.

  • "Lets Show This Prehistoric Bitch How We Do Things Downtown !!!!"

  • If someone asks you if your a god you say yes. Thats the most important leason from the movies

  • amo i Ghostbusters! e lo spettacolo è stupendo!

  • i use to love Ghostbusters! i still do but i like it even more back then! thanx for putting this

  • I saw that when i went there in 1992!!! hee hee! i was only 7!

  • this kicks ultime ass.

I saw this back then...i was a toddler and <i>obsessed</i> with Ghostbusters, even though it was before my time. this kicked ultimate ass. i remember waiting in like, and it was like, the Ghostbuster's firehouse. it was badass.

  • It's too Bad that The only Videos of this Particularly Doomed Ride Were Low-Quality home Movies

  • hey thanks for putting this vid up, brought back memories I went there around that year :)

Universal Studious in Florida was 10 times and still is 10 times better then the one in Cali ><

  • lol they took it out because they could not find anyone to keep doing the act.

  • Oh man, I would've SO rather see this than some Twister attraction. In between this and BTTF, i'm finding less and less reasons to go to Universal. ><

  • Universal really doesnt know how to keep their vistor's happy by getting rid of the attractions they came to see. I'm all for change but BTTF and rides like that are special to people

  • Yeah, so far the only place in Universal I want to go to is Islands of Adventure. It's got Spider-Man, Dr. Seuss, and eventually will have Harry Potter :D Until then, It's Disney World for me!!

  • all the good rides are at the one in Florida. book me a flight, cuz i'm a commin' out!

  • replaced by twister? man that blows

  • hahaha...that was great, so classic and i cant believe its been that long...

  • slimer rocks

  • They got rid of Ghostbusters....for fucking Twister?!

  • Awesome, I never seen a "Ghostbusters" before, I just see a "Twister".

I made my own Theme Park in Orlando (Stephen Bryant's Studios Florida) to put the Ghostbusters at the side of New York ("Sesame Street Live!", "Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue", "Anime Behind the Sences Show", and "Ghostbusters")

  • I saw this version of Ghostbusters when I went to Universal in Florida in 1992. This brought back memories of when I went there in 1992. I went back to Universal again , in 1994.

  • ...OMG. I don't remember 1992 being so corny

  • ...OMG. I don't remember most things. Who are you? What have you done with my elephants?

  • This was the first version that closed in early 1992. The newer version which opened in May 1992 featured a storyline around Ghostbusters franchises and focused primarily on the Louis Tully character (Rick Moranis in the movies). The new version played for several years and was shut down and replaced by Twister (not the board game). [I was a part of the cast of the second version.)

  • this bullshit sucks

  • Watching this video makes me realise how much I remember and miss this show, I loved it so much :)

  • Me likes! Pity the sound quality on the older camcorders wasn't so good...

  • SLIMER! XD

  • Yeah I vaguely remember the first version. I saw it in 991 but I do not remember seein git in 1992. I think in 1992 it was the second version. Thanks for uploading.
