The Andy Williams work from the early 1960s to early 1970s may be the most impressive ownership of music by a singer that I can think of. His vocal control, pitch, clarity and ease of performance is simply amazing. He always worked with great accompanyment, always gave a great twist to some of the best songs ever written and always leaves me pleased for listening.

@rdc300 Indeed! He didn't have any gimmicks: wonderful clarity, no growling, and very little melisma. He just sang the melody--and made it gorgeous. His phrasing and use of dynamics were brilliant. It's very interesting to pay attention to the way he varies the attack, the volume, the swell, and decay of each note that he hits. It comes across as sounding entirely natural--but it was, of course, a matter of superb technique. Interestingly, although he sounds so natural, I suspect he was trained.
What a gem! Yootami: You have done millions of us Andy Williams fans a great honor. All these live Andy Williams clips you have on your site is just awesome. I thank you so much for finding these wonderful clips...
Great vocals but when Andy started to walk out of the shadows he looked like someone from the X-Files or the guy at the beginning of the Twilight Zone......"presented for your consideration..its a day in September.... somewhere in Anytown USA......"
My dear old Dad is nearing the end of his Journey through this Life. He's led a long & happy life. This song captures the bitter-sweet feeling I have as I now must say goodbye to him. My favorite version of this song is by The Brothers Four, from the PBS DVD "This Land Is Your Land--The Folk Years". If you can rent it from Netflix or score one off eBay, it's worth it. Peace...
perry como sang it better.

how does he do it? No "autotune" no lead-track in an earpiece?
talent- a concept lost in pop music today.
When these guys are gone- rap and justin beber will be all thats left.
The bar just keeps getting lower- too bad
In the meantime I will continue to enjoy these performer's beautiful work

I knew this tune on Andy's song in childhood and was listening over and over again.
It is a fit song at this time of the year.
