yes, you can change them in an options menu. when you order one on the website it will ask you what you want the default color to be, but like i said this can be changed.

it is, its faster and it has more features, but all they have now are refurbished, luckily i got mines right when they were closing this line, i got lucky and it gave me a way better processor, a 1 gb nvidia geforce video card, and 8 gb of ram, and i only paid 1500 for it :D

There's some talk of alienware m17 coming out with dual 4780s. Now I don't know much about laptop hardware but some say that this card will shift around the hardware in m17 and they'll update it with the latest stuff along with 4780. Not sure what they're gonna do with the m15x

m15x'es now comes with 2.8GHz EXTREME processor, 9800M GT Nvidia Graphics card, 8 GB of RAM, 1200p screen resolution, etc etc...

Some fight going on through the forums that 8800M GTX is better than 9800M GT. Many others say 9800M GT is a "rebranded" version of the 8800M GTX, so it's better.

I would believe the 9800M GT is better, because if not then Alienware would give an option for the 8800M GTX on the Customisation feature on the website.

Alienware is great and everything. I just cant understand why in the website when you chose the "gaming" option they put you the screen resolution at 1920x1200 if you cant play fluently games like crysis on this resolution. Ok is too much for a laptop so the most people choose the 1440x900.

It depends who you ask, I use Vista on my m15, and can say for sure those people are lying because they hate Vista. But honestly It depends who you ask. So go with what you like.

As far as tech specs are concerned, get the 8800 GTX, its a must!

im just about to order one soon, but all the negative statements about it made me think.

The only thing i really care about is the immense Heat and the downclocking that comes with it.

Can you tell me how hot the GPU gets while playing HighEnd Games for hours? Same for average Titles. The average ones are espacially important for me, cause i like going on smaller LANs whenever i can ^^

Sorry for the babbling but im tryin to get the word out. People will tell u alienware sucks but hey if u want a 20 pound sager thats the equivalent of a fat girlfriend as far as asthetics go then go for it.

Also i made then swap my card from 8800GTX to the new Quadro FX 3600M even after they installed it and they did it in a day. And dont believe all the crap about the Quadro suckin at games, if u kno basic skills in INF driver mods u can have both cards from the Quardro, Quadro and a 8800GTX

Talk to the reps be nice tell them ur situation and ask them if they can put some priority on the thing, they mostlikly will.

TALK to the sales reps they can, and will give u discounts, ie School discounts and other stuff just ask, never hurt to ask.

THE screen does have some flex to it, so dont be stupid use the proper little finger hole to open ur laptop.

Im using mine for rendering and CAD, but i jsut love the look for screw buyin a Thinkpad Or Workstation :)

Trust me I have spoken with an Alienware sales represtentative and asked if it will support new NVidia graphics cards and new processors and he said yes. They will install them when they are available if you buy them and send your system to tech support.

I talked with techsupport as well, but they said it "is" upgradeable, but the graphics still are integrated. What you do is send it in and they take apart the motherboard for you and repalce it with the 8800M, so its still not that bad :) I'm not sure if other brands do that or not.
