ive been trying to get into this band for a while but havent really given them a proper chance. im a pretty big death in june fan and after hearing this im up for hearing a whole natchtmystium album.

I think this sounds like regular black metal with folk influence, or "pagan metal"... it sounds good, but it could be any other BM band ; Death in June sounds more original, I know no other band that really sound like them, with that mix of industrial , martial and folk music.

I wouldn't touch the original with a 10 foot pole, it's too good. Nobody does it better than Douglas Pierce. I don't find this interesting at all, and although I love this band, they basically butchered this song in my opinion, anyway.

I think this is a great cover, this is the way I got into Death in June; through Nachtmystium, they have turned me on to so many good bands, reading their interviews, googling the bands I see on the shirts they wear in their videos, etc.

You morons, Nachtmystium IS NS, their albums were released by Resistance Records, it is the biggest NS label in the world, they also released albums of Angry Aryans, Bound For Glory etc. How can you then say that they are not connected to NS? When they were asked about if they are NSBM or not they said that they support it but based on the lyrics they don't consider themselves NS.

You are not right, NSBM means if your band is pro-NS or just satanic non-politic or something other. It doesn't have to include lyrics.

NSBM is the label that was made by Absurd, that has NS lyrics in maybe two verses of two songs lol. Most of the most well-known NSBM bands have nothing related to NS, racism and similar at all (Absurd, Graveland, Kroda, Hate Forest...) They have lyrics on various subjects, but as a point of view of a NS person.

I have to agree to an extent (my own attempts at covering DIJ songs don't fare much better). This is still a nice cover though. DIJ is one of those bands (IMO) that are hard to cover, in terms of capturing the emotion and power of the original. Speaking of DIJ, there's a documentary on youtube "Death In June - the Man behind the mask" . . .if you haven't seen it, check it out. I finally saw it and it brightened and otherwise shitty day.
