  • man I would of thought the mazda 3 would have more hp stock. Anyways I hope to the dude that said that was slow was referring to the stock 130 mph and not the 500hp or I will get fucking shitty.

  • I'm in the middle of ordering the TRI-POINT turbo kit for my 2005 mazda3S .. It promises 240/240 on the stock engine.. Did you do anything to the engine like reinforcements? rods etc?

  • @SirSismo yes, i had not only a big turbo and charge/downpipe than what they give you, but i had rods/heads/pistons/springs/ret­ainers lower C/r .

    the tri-point kit is a very good kit, just do not expect to much power out of it.

  • nice mazda... anyone who tries to compare a v8 with a 4 banger is.... not all that smart.. the point of tuning these smaller engines is to get all that power from something small... Oh yea i have a 4.6L V8 with 300 hp.... wow... thank you ford... this guy has a 2.0L with almost double... Props!!!! small package with a lot of bang!!!

  • @sidodorifto no, you are right, but the car makes 130whp stock, so it is a big improvement.

    but all i had to do to get in the 500whp range like the others, was slapping on a second FP and a gt35r, since i had everything else already on.

  • Sales were declining for the f-bodies, but that doesn't make them bad cars. If sales figures matter to you, do you listen to Michael Jackson's "Thriller" and think everything else sucks. I think not.

  • I am not going to voice my opinion about mj, all i am going to say is i wish he died earlier. but i am not only looking at sales my friend, look up specs for the car, and you will see that weight, size, engine size, and track time will be proof, you get the top of the line camaro and the top of the line mustang and the mustang dominates by far. the hennessey camaro and the Gt500 super snake, car and driver did the test to prove it. Edmunds also compared the two.

  • lol stangman this is true but u could also buy an 2001 audi s4 for 10 to 11k. its a 2.7 liter bi turbo. i would put money on it that it would spank any stock trans am or z28. so u say put a few thousand into the car. well u put a few thousand into an s4 and it will also have 450 or 500 hp and tq to all the heels since its all wheel drive. so right off the line usually the awd will jump a car or 2 on the line, and with the same hp it aint catching up. 8 cylinders are 2 heavey and overated!!!!

  • Even tho it's coparing apples to oranges, a stock 98-02 Trans Am or z28/ss could take this car. You can get them for about $10k now which is about the same price as a used Mazda 3. Use the few thousand this guy spent on his turbo set-up for heads, cam, intake, and gears, and you've a 11 second car in the 1/4 making about 450 rwhp & rwtq. You still think it's a shit car, well then you've got shit for brains.

  • Ok, your name is Stangman, (Stang) meaning Mustang. and first of all the Trans Am SUCKS!!! why do you think they discontinued them back in 2002, they discontinued all the F bodies back then. you want to know why. because the Mustang was the top seller. more people bought a mustang because you could build on the motor. you could not due that with a LS1 or a LT1, believe me, i owned a 2000 Firehawk.

  • come 2011 the Ford mustang V6 will be pumping 305Hp, the Gt will get 35+HP and ford is bringing back the 5.0L for the boss and Mach1 model. look it up, and like i said, i used to have a 2000 firehawk, and i will never go back to a f-body, not only is ford a reliable car, you will never have to worry about ford going bankrupt or going out like pontiac, saab, hummer, etc.

  • Mustang GT will get 412hp 5.0. Base mustang 3.7 306hp. Bout time they got seriously competitive even tho the current GT embarrasses all but the fastest cars.

  • man your comparing a mazda 3 with a trans am obviously the trans am will be more powerfull and sound louder its a v8 rwd muscle car, the mazda 3 is a fwd tuner. the trans am is old and the mazda 3 is new. and even with all that power and torque the trans am isn't much faster in the 1/4 mile and as soon as you take this to the track and hit corners that trans am will loose, 100%.

  • u can not really be able to tell how much power is needed to blow something, i just would not waste my money on an ATX, but likw i always said, go big or go home.

    if u are going to spend money on that do urself a favor and build the tranny atleast.

  • @paoeuro3 Considering your comment was over 1 year ago, my response probably isn't of great help... but I wouldn't turbocharge a NA car with auto tranny. It would definately give up on you sooner than later since ATX's are basicaly speaking, torque translators.

  • tip: check your internals first before buying the turbo kit, don't over do it with the psi, mazdas are good but i haven't seen any mazda beyond the 15 psi.

  • thanks for replying to my msg.....honestly i dont plan on going past 7psi, due to this being my everyday car to get to school and work, i dont want to completely fuck up my car....lol...but yea will my car be ok with it set at 7 psi????

  • it should. i've heard with stock internals you could go to 8 psi, but i don't trust lol. if you wanna stay at 7 psi that will be fine, just maintain your car as in checking your transmission oil, engine oil. all those normal things :P

  • well of course it depends if your mazda is 2.0 or 2.3 but with 7 psi it wouldn't be no more than 230 hp around...

  • hey bro, doesnt the pillar have airbags, if it does how did you take them out to put the gauges safely on there, and do you get a check engine light all the time

  • no mine does not have any!

    and no, you can get the pillar and keep ur gauges, if it is deployed, it is only on the top part, so no the gauges will not hit u!

    Im done with my kit less the fuel computer, I've heard nothing but good with the XFC but I can get a AEM FIC for a 1/4 of the price. leme know!

    that suck balls... when i installed the new gears, i had to use the stock synchros, and when i upt' the boost later, third gear shreaded.

    PS: granny shifting like you call it, is a way to keep the PSI high, without having to fully flat shift.

  • I just beat one of these up today with my bone stock nothing done 95 vette with an auto. I was just curious to see what they ran. I could hear his BOV and he was kinda cocky unitl he found out vettes have 4 tail lights.

    he kept trying to race me when I had cars in front of me and could do nothing, he didnt know what to do when I started from behind him and drove around him. hehe...

    he had a new york plate and a batman decal (?) in the back. all black car. hope he is not suppose to be bad?

    its a turbo mazda 3.

    do get a BOV for your speed search Street unit, they have a section for the speed 3.

    right now i am runing a greddy type S on my speed3, and i can not hear it, i would need an intake! if you want some sound and stay stock, get a turbosmart dual! and always run your BOV on recirculating or if it can 50/50!

  • yea most kits out there for the 3 come with 420 cc injectors, unless you already have a built block and tranny, then u can boost bigger. his block is definately built cuz we cant run more than 9 psi on our motors without breaking a rod or etc on our cars

  • im starting to build my engine with eagle rods, supertech pistons bla bla bla... what i dont know is that do i need to change my crankshaft? my engine is a 2.0 and what engine management or electronics do i need so my engine wortks out fine? do to the lower compresion pistons.. im going to use 8.8 i think.. and im going to get the kit piece by piece.. since i dont have the 4K hehe... so thats why im getting all separate things... if you got msn or yahoo let me know so u can help me out.. thnkx

    I got the turbo installed and the all engine built in miami.

    Its a T3t4 with a fully built engine and tranny. (hiboost turbo kit)

    yeah the BOV can sound better, you hardly hear it outside, but it is leaking and doesnt hold boost that well past 12PSI. i am runing it VTA, but i should go with Recirculating.

    THE CAR WILL BE PUT BACK TO STOCK VERY SOON SO I CAN TRADE IT IN.

  • Wow, I feel bad for whoever is going to buy that car after you trade it in, not knowning that it was turbo'd. They'll have an engine with excessive wear, and one thats been fck around with. You shouldn't do that to a car, nevertheless trade it in "stock", since its been put under excessive stress.
