I think most investors had to know he ws doing something shady. You just don't get 10% returns consstently like he did.
I think they just didn't care and thought the money would be there forever and would get it back if he got busted for whatever he was doing. A lot of these guys were too greedy to care if he was doing something illegal, as long as they got their cut. IMO.
