can i suggest to use your ammonium nitrate instead to synthesize potassium nitrate? combine NHNO4 and KCL (potassium chloride, also called a no salt salt substitute found in many grocery store) in boiling water and once mixed cool down the solution and collect the crystals. these crystals are your KNO3. happy pyroteching everyone.

Ammonium Nitrate is fairly non toxic. It's not going to burn your skin or anything, but cheap gloves are still recommended since it can still cause irritation in sensitive skin

amonium nitrate u get from instant cold packs its the little white beads inside and magnesium firestarters u can get at walmart

magnesium is found in some pencil sharpeners.. and if you live in usa, find a firestarter, which is made of magnesium.. ammonium nitrate is found in instant cold packs ;)

ratio1: 1 TBS MG - 1/2 TBS AN

ratio2: 1/2 TBS MG - 1/4 TBS AN

ratio3: 2/1 volume ( visual) MG/AN

volume is not weight.. its what you see (: like.. 1:2 kno3/mg is 1 spoon kno3 2 spoons magnesium.. its simply what you see or what it fills..

ur composition is either wet or more likely uve added to much AN or even more likely both lol...

i dry my AN by shoving it in the oven when my moms not looking 30 mins at 250 fareinhit gets the job done....

ive had great results with 1/1 mixture ratio by weight so for exampel 1 gram of ammonium nitrate and 1 gram of mag

ive also had great results with a 2/1 ratio mag to an by weight

u can still use AN if its not powdered down but wen u wanna use it jus grind it cuz i grinded all my powder and it got moist so i gotta get sum more AN btw u can get it 4rm instant ice packs but u gotta smash it down but if u want PN get sum stump remover which contains it good luck
