Love it. As for the remake....SUCKS!!! The only thing scary about Joe Johnston's The Wolfman is that it exists. The fact that people, nay professionals, spent several years working on this picture genuinely upsets me! CGI is ridiculously overused - it looks like something to be played, like a Playstation, not watched! When will we return to visceral special effects. No wonder Tarantino refuses to use CGI!!!
@whitbyjet65 i don't think the music ruins the movie's atmosphere. the music creates a new atmosphere. i enjoy both atmospheres, depending on my mood at the moment.
@whitbyjet65 the music goes so well with the visuals. it's almost as if the song-writers were thinking of the movie when they came up with the song, and yet i doubt that they did.
I know that by this time when the movie was shoot ,there wasnt the technology that there is today.!But i cant hold laughting! This looks so fake and stupid ! No offense!
when the gypsy underwent transformation, he became a full wolf. when larry talbot underwent the change, he became something that seemed somewhat wolfish and somewhat manlike. thus it seems that werewolfism has stages, so that, in the early stages, the person in the switching becomes a being that is both wolfish and manlike until he switches back to human, and yet, in later stages ( if the person lives that long ), the person in the switching becomes a full wolf until he switches back to human.
Did you ever see the movie, Wolf, with Jack Nicholson. The character went through various stages. But as too the Wolfman, the movie was state of the art at the time. Not like later movies like Wolf, American Werewolf in London or The Howling.
i saw "wolf" with jack nicholson, and yet i don't recall much about it. i believe that nicholson's character became something that looked like a real wolf, not something that looked part human and part wolf.
Yeah, near the end of the movie, Nicolsons character becomes a full fledged wolf. But before that, he was of the two legged werewolf variety. lol. I haven't seen the movie in along time. But I remember when it was on the Scifi Channel. Celebrating 50 years of the wolf. Now Scifi has gone with more Science Fiction and Chiller shows the scary stuff. lol
antiann52--- at 3:13 it says that it was performed by sam the sham and the pharoes. wikipedia has an article about them. i heard this song from time to time over the years, and i'm not sure whether anyone else was known for singing it.
The Wolf Man is a 1941 monster horror film written by Curt Siodmak and produced and directed by George Waggner, starring Lon Chaney, Jr., Claude Rains, Evelyn Ankers, Ralph Bellamy, Patric Knowles, Béla Lugosi, and Maria Ouspenskaya.

That new Wolfman didn't stay in the theaters very long. This 1941 classic is still popular. Goes to prove the originals are always better.
