I love this song! I used to have this on a CD somewhere and have been kinda looking for it for awhile. I like the performance on the CD better. This guy sounds... weirdly high pitched.
This sounds to me like the RIMSKI-KORSAKOV adaptation of MUSSORGSKY's masterpiece. Is it? Or is it the SHOSTAKOVITCH one? Or the original MUSSORGSKY version that was later put together? When MUSSORGSKY's worked on his first draft of the work, RIMSKY-KORSAKOV was working on his own mad czar: IVAN THE TERRIBLE also known as THE MAID FROM PSKOV. They were both working at the same table. I would've loved to see the scene.
