@princefan2million But we can't know why he's smiling while he sings that. He seemed to be nodding to someone in the crowd - perhaps someone was dressed outlandishly, girlishly - like a 'niece'. Or perhaps his family were in view - he has 2 kids. Maybe the significance of the song has evolved for him, it's been a while since he wrote it - 'living on lollipops and crisps' must take on new meaning when you have young children!

Also, surely his attitude to the song shouldn't change its value to you

Great friggen' performance. Don't get while there are comments about mess ups or switching lyrics. If you've ever written a song before or played several gigs in you life, you'd understand that after the hundredth time you've played a song a certain way you'll want to mix it up a little bit, especially if it's your song. Music isn't a set thing, it's something that blends and always speaks in different ways.
