Funny... I no of a lot of loggers going to Stihl the last few years. They last longer and are better than husqvarna. I have both and they are great saws. I hear a big company bought out husky, Poland and some others and the husky quality has gone down. In fact it looks just like a Poland but has the husky badge and color. I have not seen that first hand but have heard it from a few different sources.
@chainsawsmurf i think electrolux used to own husqvarna, they are a swedish company that own zanussi and loads of other appliance companies. they also own mc culloch chainsaws. the quality of their components has improved since electrolux sold husq. in 2005/2006. either way i have owned stihl and husq saws and now i have a solo and to be honest i have always looked after my saws and kept that chain as sharp as new so i cant really say one is better than the other......they are all very good.
Thanks for sharing. It's been a while since I used mine and was having a hell of a time getting it going. Now to figure out why it's taking so long to cut through this apple tree I need to work on........ >;-(
Husqvarna was founded in 1689, they are making petrol-engines (starting with motorcycles) since 1903. Yes the chainsaw-manufacturing started in 1959, so Stihl had an advanced start, but somehow Husqvarna developed so strong. Husqvarna was the first with; Air Injection, Automatic Chain Brake, de-limb saw, vibration-damping.
Pro foresters saw brand of choice! Husqvarna rule in the woods! Stihl are a gardeners or weekend users saw now slow and steady and a bit flimsy these days also. A real shame!
@landrover1506x6 Im a pro arborist and i use both Husky and stihl both great saws but in the forest or bush id prefer a stihl cause of it sturdy design. both brilliant saw but
Because these saws have limiters on them, there are plenty of mods to do, incl alt power head, coils, jetting etc etc that can get this thing up and going even more.
It's not the highest revving engine around , i think it's limited to around 9,000rpm co's of EPA specs ?, but with the appropriate mods this will be higher...Even though this husky is from the modern era, i wonder how one of these would go against a 1970s Jonsered 111s, they were like thumping like Harleys when just idling
@rcsavageguy A power valve on a chainsaw would be useless and extra weight. Saws either are at idle or WFO so you done need a power valve to help transition on and off the powerband. Plus saws dont have tuned pipes unless they are for racing and even then a power valve would be useless.
hey man, husqvarna is one great chain saw. I work with my grandpa hes 65, and im only 14, he bought a 16 inch husqvarna, because we had to cut down some trees up at work, within 5 hours we cut down one giant ass 60 foot tall pine tree, and hauled to a dump. it took us about 5 trips, because we had a pretty small trailer, but it just cut though the pine just like butter.
@walterbrunswick if you ever used a saw with a big bar you would know it needs to be tight because when it warms up it will be sagging like a grannys tittys you jackass
@kiwicowcocky Why are you calling me a jackass? I phrased my statement as a question and am accepting opinions/advice. Do you have a tree stuck up your asshole?
@walterbrunswick thats because his a know it all kiwi i ve worked with kiwis for ten years and ninety percent of them are sugar coated farm boys who think there the only ones that have done a hard days work
o i like the 3 Series the 4 and 5 Series run Nice, the 576XP With X-Torq = 390 i run the 372XP and the 570 with the 570 no more Load when you are in a log so no More boging down
One of the most powerful motor chainsaw in the world about 120 cc and 8.4 hp comparable with the Stihl 880 with 121 cc and 8.6 hp... But husqvarna looks more beastly! :D
