  • Catherine Wheel are my fave band of all time, miss them soooo much, wish they had the fame and fortune they so rightly deserved. They influenced so many bands. Saw them live and they sounded as perfect as their albums. Pure talent, never to be repeated. Thanks guys, you really rocked!! Still listen to you often. Namaste! xxx

  • Who in the hell is Radiohead?

When they and Catherine Wheel first came out, CW drew me in right away. Never really cared for Radiohead.

  • if i could only pick one band for the rest of my life, it would be CW...i wish they knew how much they are truly loved

  • @mysty147 I'm with you......

  • @mysty147 i feel the same! not a day goes by that i dont play CW.

  • Really great song by a really great band. Perfect for a cold December day! Thanks for posting.

  • This is one of my favorite songs. Rob Dickinson has a beautiful soul. Inside and out Rob is Amazing and Gorgeous. I can play this song forever.

  • bellissima musica, bellissima voce.

  • I really miss this band.

No one sounds like them..unmistakable sound and voice.

The shoegaze snobs discounted them..but we all knew better.

It's never so black and white when it comes to making music.

This is a great fucking song man, thanks for the upload!

  • @morymb1 1M votes up...i feel exactly the same...if fact, that feeling will never change ;) xxx

  • Was this really 12 years ago!!?! Geez, where have the years gone(?).

  • @jerryfalwellsociety I know! It's crazy, I remember driving into Oxford city centre to get this the day it came out. I only just passed my test but I was legal and had just one thing on my mind, the Wheel!

  • @lewisslade

Haha. I was in my final year of Uni at Bristol. Having grown up in Lowestoft I'd known of CW since the beginning. Amazing memories - amazing album.

  • @jerryfalwellsociety Agreed! Those albums are going with me to the grave :-)

  • I think its a testament that they were true artist in the fact that they never were extremely popular. Often times the music looses something and a band compromises their music in order to appeal to a broader audience.

  • Fantastic song! Wish they were still together.

  • Such a beautiful song.

  • @Dermacrosis YES...VERY BEAUTIFUL

  • i don't know the intended interpertation of this song but to me when i hear it i think of solitude (per the title) and silence its a bittersweet letting go to me and it makes me remember my past when i didn't speak for two years. this song is simply beautiful

  • All of you Catherine Wheel and shoegazing fans, hear me! we need to start to share this rare and glorious sound to the rest of the world! seriously, it's a fucking shame that these guys are not as famous as Muse, green day, metallica, iron maiden or AC/DC! so let’s start new shoegazing wave! share and tips this to anyone who like good and loud guitars with awesome lyrics! who is with me? Spread the word!

  • He's beautiful!

I absolutely melt when I hear his voice and the bands performance. Even better "LIVE".

    NYC Concert would be SWEET!

  • great album!

  • Reunite!

    Rob, Brian, Dave and Neil.

    Please and Thank You.

  • One of the greatest bands of all time. This band was perfect and solid in every single way. To say that they werent successful is not exactly accurate. This band has been there for millions of people when they are going through the emotional roller coaster called life. They werent a "pop" band. And that is exactly why they continue to be played on my ipod. That they werent the largest band on earth is a testament to how stupid the industry is/was. It certainly wasnt their music. It's flawless :)

  • Wishing, hoping for a return of Catherine Wheel AND a Seattle concert. This song always lifted my spirits when I was going through the big D...

  • Loved your dad's drum work, Finn. Many of us miss The Catherine Wheel greatly.....be proud he was part of the magic in the first place!!!

  • Tell your dad he is awesome, and we love him. And we love you too, cuz you are probably awesome as well.

  • lol thanks! you know he is stil in a band with brian called: 50ft monster you check them out on iTunes!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • it's a shame embedding is not allowed i wanted to share this beautiful beautiful song with my facebook friends :~(

  • So how long are Catherine Wheel going to stay "parked" for anyways? :-P Hope they some day decide it's time to put some new material together, it would mean a lot to the fans. Rob, Neil, Brian, Dave, we miss you!

  • You said it. This band should get unparked.

  • Seeing all of these positive comments has just about made my day. Keep the faith, everyone.

  • @trane57 I'm keeping the faith

  • Where can I find this song?

  • On the album 'Adam & Eve' :-)

  • Thank you

  • @Shrubbs here LOL

  • rob looking quite handsome in this video and not a bad video. The song is great. brings out the emotions. what is he singing in the last chorus in the background?

  • There was somethin gposted about this a while back on Rob's (no longer there) website. I'm sure I said it for my CW site, i'll have to have a dig around,

    LewX

  • @causalityofbeing Rob has the most delicious lower lip....and the voice of an angel

  • im neil's son the drummer!!!! no joking i didnt know they were so popular!!!!!

  • your dad is a great drummer.

  • you should be proud. they were a great band. so is that your heartbeat heard on the begining of this song.

  • I love this song!!!

  • im a friend of brian futters son

  • Behold ^^..im Brians son...seriously though i am..i didnt realize people actualyl liked his band..i myself like the music

  • Catherine wheel existed for 8 years,

about the same as the Beatles...

    Something Delicous

  • Not to get into a baby fight or anything, but the boys were in 'Catherine Wheel' for 10 years. Formed in '90, went on their holiday in '00 :-)

  • hope they go back to work soon...:-)

  • I discovered them near their end...

    I've really enjoyed their music.

    Thanks for posting

    :~)

  • Not quite 20 years yet......Give it three or so:-)

  • Catherine Wheel is another one of those bands that the music industry felt they could never make money off of. Real music lovers know otherwise. Catherine Wheel should have conquered MTV and America. Tragic really. "Heal" is an anthem. Wish I was in the music industry.

  • How did you find them? I agree with you, but Cathrine Wheel have been around for 20 years so I think they have chosen to be quiet and not take the Pop world or MTV by storm.

  • I agree 100%....well said Astro...i listen to them everyday because they were splendid!

  • Annihilate3275:

Totally agree with you! Remember looking forward to "The New Millenium", when the only thing we worried about was whether the clocks on our computers might do us in?

Beautiful song, great video from one of the most underrated bands out there.

  • This is the most amazing song! The video is beautiful too!

  • Love the song!

    Great!

  • Rob,

Love the song FOREVER. It gets to me deeply.

    Come to Austin soon!

  • very powerful. reminds me of the 90s so much, before all this terrorism bullshit and everything else this decade has brought with it.

  • YES!

  • Hey...THANKS for putting this one!!! I've loved this song so much!!! I'm almost cried relistening and watching the best CW video...another fan from italy is screaming....COME BACK CATHERINE WHEEL!!! :(

  • amen...

  • My solituda... :'(

  • What do you call that awesome sound at 3:26 to 3:46 that sounds sort of like a distant jet plane? Someone once told me it was a "phase shifter". Whatever it is, this song rocks! And I always feel an urge to close my eyes at that point in the song for some reason. (gotta be careful listening on the car stereo, lol!)

  • That's a flanger (the jet plane sound)!

Like most of you this song and this video remind me so much of long gone and lost years...

  • Rob,

My band played with you in a Houston outdoors plaza downtown at a place you probably wish you were not playing. You played well anyway. I did everything I could to open that show in hopes you saw our set, but it did not happen to my knowledge. You were a big influence, and thank you for the music. This song came after that show, but I would have jumped on stage to sing the harmony with you any day. Please don't stop.

    Thanks, Toy Subs - J

  • very strong songwriter for every era of CW.

    even wishville i guess lol

    great song!

come back CW, your fans dont just miss you..we fucking miss the shit out of you
