i think the mix up in translation accounts for a lot of those 'dislikes'

but i have been to a show and its a 'real' sword, but it's also a 'performance' in front of a shrine; not a ufc match with katanas.. Who searches for that anyway. Just enjoy the show it takes A lot of practise to wield a sword SAFELY, unless youtube really does boost skill to maximum level, then go ahead, try it...

The Katana is really sharp like a razor, and it's easy to cut off his leg or arm by mistake.

Ordinary Japanese people don't accustomed to using Katana.

So, the are afraid of some accident.

that might have been the worst performance i have ever seen hahahaha he even missed a jump. i did karate for a long time and did self defence and was south caroilina champion in weapons breaking fighting and self defence and that they would laugh at go to the battle of atlanta and look like a fool with that. sorry for being rude but its true.
