Without the beard the look almost identical! In same way this is pure logic. Because if sound is produced by your body and facial mask - Then of course similar bodies and faces can produce similar sounds.
Look at early Pv singing Ingemisco - Then look at Bjorling at the same age.

Pavarotti siguió siendo grande, pero el Rigoletto del 1972 de Decca, es demasiado bueno, increible, en 1000 años más se hablará de aquello.
