  • ''get the bayleef out''well yeah if i were a bayleef i would want out too.

  • Made the baked version of this Mac and Cheese a couple night ago and it was amazing, even reheated the next day. I traded out the breadcrumbs for crushed cheese and garlic croutons and it added a great complement to the cheese inside.

  • i can kick the shit out of this kid in a stirring contest

  • Elton has learned well the lessons of his master, the force is strong with him X3

  • I made the stovetop one twice, it was not good eats. What am I doing wrong? The only thing I didn't do was cook it to al dente (I made my noodles more chewy) and took out the hot sauce. I also heard from people that they used half and half instead of evaporated milk. Does that make it taste any better? Also, the cheese melted kind of, but it just clumped and that made the dish overall taste pasty.

  • @PinkCircleO8 Sounds like your doing everything right. Maybe instead of the english cheddar you should try the velveta. I use that when I'm making it from scratch and it usually turns out good eats.

  • @PinkCircleO8 I didn't like it at first either so try this instead; mix the eggs, then add heavy cream (one of the $1 small containers is 8oz so just use about 3/4 of it), add the hot sauce for flavor (it doesn't make it hot so don't worry), back off the mustard to 1/4tsp, salt and pepper like usual but make sure it's a metal bowl. Place over a double boiler until it thickens to your liking, add to noodles and keep the heat just above low then add the cheese in small handfulls...continued

  • @PinkCircleO8 continued...making sure each batch is melted before the next. Toy with the spices too, add more or less of whatever until you like it. I just don't like mustard in large amounts (unless on sandwich of course) and I really don't like canned milked. So try that and post on how liked it!

  • @Celestyal22 Thanks. I'll try to do it that way next time. Two questions. First, what is a double boiler, and second, what will the hot sauce taste like?

  • @PinkCircleO8 Take an metal or glass mixing bowl (which-ever you have) and place in on a pot with an inch or two of water in it. Make sure the bowl fits into the pot by the botton 1/4-1/3 of the bowl. Turn the heat to high to get the water boiling then drop to a simmer. Place the bowl with the ingredients on top then mix away! (use a wisk)

The hot sauce just adds the chili flavor without the heat. It's just there to round out the flavors.

  • Oh Nostalgia! I've been watching Food Network since I was 9. This was one of my favorites.

(Also: My family got a lot of great recipes off of Good Eats.)

  • Holy crap that looks good! I was already craving mac&cheese; the fried stuff just made the craving worse...

  • mmmm, make this stove top mac n cheese all the time. Best ever.

  • Which one of her many ex-husbands are his father?

  • @Goldenrod636 Pahaha, that was great.

  • mine didn't stay together at all :( but they were good

  • 5:18

Oh horror of horrors! Elton likes BOXED mac & cheese!?!?

  • What's library paste? Is it paste from the library? lol

  • @goodnewsbadnews16 glue for library books if the tear, or other uses of glue.

  • fried mac and cheese... it might give you a heart attack, but at least you'll go out happy.

  • amen.

  • @DarkRulerHaDes666 If you're ever on death row, ask for a lethal injection of Alton's deep fried macaroni. Very humane

  • those little tray plate things are a dice pattern

  • The only mac I get from a blue box is Barilla elbow macaroni to make my own sauce with.

Kraft... cheese sauce?! BAHAHAHA people actually call that orange-colored salt "cheese sauce mix," that's priceless.... it doesn't even have any bite unless you add your own cheese lol

  • @chronofantasy5 tastes like cardboard...homemade is the only mac and cheese..lol

  • Velveeta? People, do you know half the things they put into those pasta shells? It even contains miniscule amounts of circumcised foreskin to keep some of it's elasticity and chewy-ness.

  • that's vavelta, dumbshit.

  • Comment removed

  • @khianidude dude if its got circumcised forskin then i gotta have it mmm

  • wow, he is useing the type of fryer he was telling every one not to use. oh well. guess we have to wait to the man food show to get the good one...

  • Kid stirs like a pussy.

  • Who here gets the blue box blues after eating the Kraft Brand processed cheese food power (aka, Krap)?

  • haahahahaaaha me 2 lol

  • o.o omg 6:43 dont shake your hair over the bowl. i have found hair in some well known restaurants, i wont eat in those places ever again

  • what happened to the 1/4 of the cheddar he said he was gonna use as a topping?

  • It's on there. Maybe it's unclear because the video is a bit fuzzy.

  • He puts it on top, then the Panko crumbs on top of that

  • @jakeflaschen *lol* What happens to everything when you cook hungry, it got eaten! (At least, I assume)

  • Its like eating bread, Mac N Cheese Bread lol

  • Kraft dinner is awsome!!! But these recipies are good too.

  • its called Mac N Cheese, not Kraft dinner.

  • Depends where you're from. What is Macaroni & Cheese to us is Kraft Dinner to Canada (and I think England too, but don't quote me on that one. Someone wanna help me with that, please?)

  • that makes no sense, since not all mac and cheese is made from kraft

  • Some cultures call products by a brand name by default. In Boston, whenever they play Video Games, it's typical of them to say they're playing Nintendo, even if they're playing Sega or Sony or Microsoft. In the Atlanta area, if they're drinking pop. they'll tell you they're drinking Coke, no matter the brand. It's just the way societies are, sensical or not.

  • theres a word for that. cant remember.

  • I think in Britain they call it Cheesy Pasta.

  • fuck Kraft's macaroni and orange salt mix

  • Yeah, kraft stinks

  • I've heard that Canadians don't call mac' 'n cheese mac' 'n cheese. Apparently to them it's "Kraft Dinner"--even if it's not from Kraft.

  • you my friend must be a south park fan lol.

  • rofl

  • He's actually right about that... in most regards. I think it depends on neighborhoods a bit too and boarder proximity.

  • I like Kraft best. I guess because that's what I grew up with.

  • I liked the ol' blue box stuff growing up, but sometime since, they've changed the mix. Now, the 'cheese sauce' only tastes like cheese for something like 45 seconds. After that the flavor disappears.

I wish I knew how that happens.

  • I could never stand blue box Kraft. I always liked Velveeta based Mac and Cheese. Velveeta's probably my favorite processed cheese product.

My recently made serving of Easy Mac inspired me to seek out this video. Stuff is nasty. I had to put in a ton of shredded cheddar and hot sauce to make it palatable. Guess I got what I paid for.

  • Velveeta FTW

  • Alton is Thing!

  • that doesn't make sense unless Alton has 3 hands, if you watch the Behind the Eats show, it's not Alton. Also you can clearly see both his hands plus Thing in other episodes

  • 8:34

    MAH BOI lol

  • What I would'nt give for Jeffersons 1,235 pound cheese wheel.

  • "Dose he stir like a bitch!?!"

  • lol, nice reference.

  • That stuff is in the boxed version; people just never notice because they never bother to cook anything from raw ingredients. Just about every cheese sauce contains dry mustard, paprika, and onion powder.

  • They add flavor. The whole point of making recipes like Macaroni and Cheese at home is to avoid the bland, flavorless salt lumps that are processed/frozen macaroni and cheese. You should really welcome variety, it IS the spice of life.

  • i swear elton kinda pisses me off when he stirs something :(

    its kinda awkward...

  • sounds like a personal problem

  • that kid stirs like a bitch

  • Whisk fast!

  • "Heart attack on a plate." Gotta love it! I wish he would make Twinkies and deep-fry them too!

  • well, ya see, my friends and I like the kind from a box.

you really know how to hurt a guy...

    best show ever!

  • Actual conversation I overheard in a restaurant:

Boy (looking at children's menu): Ooh! Macaroni and cheese!

Mom: It's not KRAFT Macaroni and cheese.

    Boy (disappointed): Oh.

  • THAT'S TERRIBLE!!!!! KRAFT SHOUL BE ASHAMED OF THEM SELVES!!!

Then again the Mom shouldn't of told her son that it wasn't craft, that way she mend her sons horrible ways

  • @ebwarg sir you should have whacked the kid with a newspaper...then the mother.

    lol

  • "I don't think your sorry!" LOL!!!@

  • I like to add a little bit of canned tuna to my stovetop mac right at the end for some contrasting flavor.

    Thanks LikeTheHat.

  • My kids like hot dogs...Go figure..I'm a chef and spend all day making great delicious food and they want the Kraft blue box! Oh, well, That leaves more of the good stuff for me!

  • how about ham.

  • I've heard of people adding bacon. Never tried any of it though, so I can't comment more then that on it.

  • Ham or a can of tuna are always good options... Although I can't recommend Spam...

  • "good boy you got there" - I love it

  • I've tried that fried mac 'n' cheese recipe before :) It was really tasty, but REALLY messy.

  • Sounds perfect.

  • now what I like about Alton is when there is an embaressing momment he just change the subject insted of laughing at the person :) cute. Thanks LTH again !

  • elton stirs in an awkward position

  • Dude! you suck! I mean, yeah, I like him a little older, but,

  • Normally you don't, but since he made the "glue" for it to stick to the cheese, he went ahead and rinsed it. Notice Elton didn't rinse the stove top version off.

  • Doesn't rinsing it pull the starch off the pasta, allowing the cheese sauce to stick less?

  • lol Elton makes a mess when he makes his.

  • Aww. Elton is so young here. I've only seen him at age 13 and older.

  • im hungry^^

  • i love macaroni cheese made home made

  • i used to like box mac&cheese, but i really think it's disgusting now. The stuff my mom makes from scratch is much better and doesn't look like gloop when it's leftover. =D

  • Totally... Just about everything made from scratch blows away that prepackaged, processed, microwavable crap everyone eats nowadays.

  • While I was never fond of Mac and Cheese (boxed or otherwise), the stuff he makes does look good.

  • Throwing egg shells out the window, I wonder if that is considered littering. :D

  • its compost so i guess its not

  • Haha, I actually call fried mac & cheese "heart attack" food too.

  • LOL I adore the ending of this one. Pity I don't have a fryer, I'd like to try the last recipe.

  • All you need is a good dutch oven and a fry thermometer. :D

  • hahahaha

  • I wish Alton Brown was my dad or uncle :(

  • If Alton was my dad or uncle maybe I would like to cook. He makes it look fun, but really I hate cooking.

  • congratulations.
