I've used the PN-40 successfully in temps as low as 15 Deg F and upwards toward 100 Deg F. Others have used in more extreme levels. Battery life is notably short when using Alkalines but Lithiums will provide a full day of usage. I'd recommend using rechargeables to stay green. The PN has never failed at updating its position with me even when in narrow horizon situations.
Thank you! I'll try to get another video out this weekend. I'm prepping for a camping trip at the end of the month so I'll take advantage of that activity and video it.
Excellent... I'm just beginning to use Topo8 with a PN-40. I'm also running it with VMware on a MacBook so the unfamiliar interface on Topo8 increases the learning curve. This very clear tutortial is just what I need to get started. I'd really like to see an extension of this, however, to demo adding routes, waypoints, etc. to your maps. Give us more!
I'll do that tomorrow when I come back from my snowshoe hike.

I downloaded an aerial from the web site, unzipped it and it shows up in Topo 8 but not in the exchange window?

Next video to make is how to prepare the imagery for the PN. This seems to be the next most confusing issue. Hope to have it done this weekend.
