In the game you ask Rayquaza to destroy the meteor that's flying towards the planet, but Rayquaza thinks you just want to fight him. So you just battle him, and THEN your partner tells Rayquaza that you guys need his assistance.

@InvalidGesture In my opinion, the Rayquaza theme from R/S/E is definately a good theme, but I don't think it fits the fast-paced action of the final battle in Mystery Dungeon.

I'm not sure that the actual theme starts the way this does, though. I have listened to GrovyleDDV's remix, and it starts like that too, but I don't think that's the original start (as far as I know).

@animefreak9901 I had Pikachu as my partner for the first playthrough, but barely ever needed him as I had Squirtle, whose water attacks are never weak-effective on any of the bosses, and who can learn ice attacks. I played through with Squirtle as my partner the second playthrough. Didn't help, Rayquaza would pwn him too early on and use up all my revival seeds.
