@Naregnemyes Haha, you're right. It HAS been a while. As far as "Little Wing" goes, though, check out my buddy wonnielon's version: youtube D O T C O M/watch?v=x-_6E5NlfNc
@Naregnemyes lol, good observation (about Bodhi). The short and quick of it is that I had a full time job teaching middle school science and wasn't able to devote the regular time they needed me to in order to prepare for recording the album. A mutual guitarist-friend of ours replaced me, and they ended up recording. Their YouTube page is youtube D O T C O M/bodhilive.
Also, I haven't posted in a while b/c my Line 6 recording hardware isn't working with my new comp. Gotta figure it out.
@sk8rboyjay It can be pulled up AND pushed down. But, some people set it up low, so that it rests against the body. In that case, it can only be pulled up.
@tehorix789 If the bridge is resting against the body, it cannot be pulled up unless your Mark McGwire on steroids, in that case you'll have a hole in your strat
@bryandunnblues Lmao. I like that last part. I guess I was talking about the bridge going up or down, as opposed to the tremolo arm. I should have been more specific. I meant "up" like "off of the body" as opposed to "down" meaning "into the body." But I think you're right with the terms -- if you pull up on the tremolo arm, the bridge gets wedged into the body, which cannot be done if it's already resting against the body (without damaging the body).
@bumxr Sorry for the confusion. This was right before I installed the Vintage Hots. These pickups were the stock Lace Sensors. Now, I have the Vintage Hots in my Strat, and I hope to make a demo video soon.
dude can you post the demo of the lindy fralin vintage hot pickups??? i just bought a 61 fender custom shop strat but after looking at matt schofield's playing with his 61 with fralin VH single coils, i became envious of his tone...
@fezzard I'll probably post a new video sometime with the new setup. I'm very happy with the pickups. They are noticeably higher output than the single coils in my 1956 Relic Strat, which has Fender's Custom 50s single coils. The Vintage Hots are smoother sounding, whereas the Custom 50s can a nicer "Rolling Stones crunch" -- I don't know how else to describe it. I like both. They are good for different tones.
I use my Vintage Hots Strat for Hendrix/Trower/SRV tones and the '56 Relic for more "non-distorted" shimmery/tweed/quacky stuff. lol, hope that helped somewhat.
sounds great dude. Some incredible strat pickups are the 69 custom shop ones from fender. They sound so good it absolutly nails classic jimi or srv tones and tons of other tones.
I've heard very nice things about those. I actually ended up getting the Lindy Fralin Vintage Hot pickup set, and I'm quite happy with them. I'm hoping to do a video with the new setup one of these days.
You dumbass, I've been playing Lace Sensor Hot Gold for a year now and I've been trying to get the best out of those pups but it has never come. So know I'll get some Vintage Hot for replacement
A friend just built a Warmoth Strat. He went with Lindy vintage hots. They sound killer. On a different note. I'm nearly done with the SLO clone is nearly done. I'll finally post up some clips when its finished.
Not accurate like your other covers- but it was still amazing and of course no one can cover this intro accurately anyway haha. Thanks for another great vid!
If you want the vintage strat sound you have to get lindey fralin real 54s they sound amazing you cant get any closer to that vintage ton than with these pick-upsthey are the best.
nice feeling dude, could you make a Bad Man Walking cover? It's my favourite Gov't Mule song, but I can't still figure it out, so I hope I will learn it by watching your playing. cheers and keep on rocking
I'm very happy with this product. This model was $140, but the cheaper model is/was $50 and gives the same tones (my model just has other options like XLR inputs, etc.).
great sounds. glad to see you on a strat too. Fralin vintage hots are GREAT responsive pickups with amazing clarity and sparkle. Also check out jason loller pickups as well. either would be great for you.
I have heard alot of good things about the fender custom shop 69 single coils and also the fender lace holy grails and of course the fender texas specials but lindy fralins are big in va where i live
