Ahhh..the fishtank shows....so funny. I was at one the few shows where they changed the set. Worcester Mass.. New Years Eve 1993 to 1994. Awesome show...stage set was out of this world. To start the show they dropped in on cables in wet suits and swam around the tank. At midnight they all climbed into the clam and it rose above the stage and started the countdown from ten. I was rolling on the floor laughing. The good old days. Makes you miss college, that's for sure. Long live Phish

smithdsmit- it totally depends on what your listening preference is. if your into long jams and lots of improv then live recordings are probably the way to go, but there are a lot of bad shows to wade through before you find the real jems.

some good tunes are fluffhead,slave to the traffic light, harry hood, stash, you enjoy myself...these songs are really 'phishy' story of a ghost, lawnboy, and farmhouse are great records to get.

i know this is a pretty old post, but if you want the real deal, just pick up the live album "New Year's 1995 at Madison Square Garden." One of the best live phish albums out there and also has a lot of staple jams in phish's repertoire. i would imagine its pretty easy to find online or even in stores

while this release is great, i'd recommend 11/17/1997 or 7/16/1994 for a first CD. 12/31/1995 is quite average at points throughout the evenings...maybe because it is a very long show?
