  • Cry Stanfurd, Cry!

  • I don't even watch football.. but that was SICK!!!!!

  • I would definitely knock over a band member if I were running in that TD!

  • Final "Set-in-Memorial Stadium-Concrete-Forever" 1982 Big Game Score:

    CALIFORNIA GOLDEN BEARS 25,

    stanfurd junior college BAND 20....

enuf said all you stanfurd crybabes!!!...

    Ha!ha!ha!...LOL....GO BEARS!!!!

    Beat stanfurd again today......

  • @localboy333 Seeing such distinct unintelligence from our opposition brings me great joy. Even if you did win this game by such slim a margin and in such an unforgettable manner, at the end of the day we remain more intelligent, successful, and for the most part more satisfied with our lives.

  • @AVL1S is a jealous furd fan.

    Nuff said.

  • @iheartboobies8 i dont like either but i think i have to agree the knee was down. the pass wasnt forward ever tho

  • EVERYONE ELSE IS GETTING OUT OF THE WAY BUT ONLY ONE DUMBASS IN THE MARCHING BAND STILL BLOWING HIS HORN WALKING BACKWARDS GOT SLAMMED! That has to be JUSTIN BIEBERS FATHER! Fucking Gay Bastard LMAO Now go find your HAT that is bouncing around in the ENDZONE!

If you PAUSE it just right when the dude gets knocked down... he Grabs his own LEG!! YUP TORN ACL LMAO

    !

  • His knee going down makes no difference whatsoever, especially back then when we would rarely see a ref get a call like that right. I mean that play happened so fast, superman couldnt have caught that knee goin down.

  • The knee was down and the pass was forward

The Cal player intentionally hit the band player with his forearm

    Nuff said

  • @AVL1S

lol 28 year later and still butthurt.

  • @AVL1S im not a cal or stanford fan but youre such a sore loser. yall tried to cheat by sending the band on the field to tackle the player. just to get down to it, STANFORD SUCKS!!!

  • @BamaDillon You're silly.

  • @AVL1S im not even a cal fan, infact i like stanford better then cal but forward passes were allowed then and it's the bands fault for getting out there when the play is live

  • @AVL1S you are a moron.

  • @AVL1S whether the pass was forward or not is completly irrelevant cuz all Cal would have to say is that the band distracted them. and to see if his was down or not you have to look at "the play to beat the band" which plays it in slow motion. the refs were in this in real time, so theres no way they couldve gotten that right.

  • does anybody ACTUALLY believe that AVL1S and abbeywood got ALL those thumbs up? no one feels that much pity for stanford. they obviously got a bunch of their nerdy stanford friends to thumbs them up every day or something like that....

  • @AVL1S I knee is debatable, but where is this so called forward pass you speak of?

  • @maybrook1 knee is far from debatable.. regardless, forward pass is about at 00:30

  • @AVL1S Yeah. The knee was down. Question though: If the player has already started the lateral motion, but the ball was still touching his hand when his knee hits, would the play dead? Because if the ball is already being jarred loose on a fumble, it doesn't matter if the knee is down while still touching the player. However, it looked like he still had firm control. Oh well. Ref mistakes are part of the game, although thankfully becoming less and less with replay.

  • @AVL1S The pass was PERFECTLY lateral.... it wasnt forward, it wasnt backwards. and I dont know hwo you can see that the knee is down........... you must have some super high tech video equipment that can magnify up close because otherwise youre just guessing........... NUFF SAID.....

  • @psychotoad1 The pass itself was lateral, but because the player was running so fast while he threw it, it caused it to go forward, forcing the ball to be caught BEHIND where it was thrown.

As for the knee: that is so obviously down it is insane. It's not even close.

  • @AVL1S really? because they broke it down in ESPN's whose number 1 a few years back, and they broke it down frame by frame... it was PERFECTLY LATERAL................ NOT FORWARD. NOT BACKWARD. as for the knee, that is all speculation, there is no way to determine conclusively one way or the other, so while i respect your opinion that the knee was down, to say it was "so obviously down" is just showing how ignorant you really are.

  • @psychotoad1 Watch the video "The play to beat the band"

You will see that the knee was clearly down.

And the pass was NOT lateral.

  • Do a search on 'Cal-Stanford "The Play to beat the Band"' and watch that 1:33 video. It CLEARLY shows that Garner's knee was down BEFORE he pitched the ball and that the last lateral was forward as the ball leaves the player's hands at the 28-yard line and Rodgers catches it at the 26-yard line. That is an ILLEGAL forward pass. The facts are that Garner's knee was down before pitching the ball and there was a forward lateral. cal lost the game. Check it out for yourself.

  • Except in 2007

  • In 2007, the bear rolled over, gagged, puked all over itself, quit and died a painful death. Starting with the last play of the Oregon State embarassment, I loved every second of its' choke job...

  • please dont flame me... but if you watch this in better definition and slow-mo you can see that the fifth lateral (Ford to Moen) was obviously a forward lateral and therefore it wasn't a TD

  • OK im not whining buddy, i dont even like standord... and if u could read you would know that i'm a georgia fan. im just pointing it out because it is so obivous that it wasnt called right

  • ya the bears are obviously better than georgia...you wish

  • Be serious. Georgia would destroy cal. Also, you claim that "cal eats pieces of shit like sec teams for breakfast" and then you use USC's win over Arkansas as one of your examples. Don't take credit for USC since the Bears lose to USC year after year. Face the truth. The Bears are USC's bitch. If cal played Georgia, they would be Georgia's bitch. Tedford's message will soon fade and cal will return to being mediocre. Wait until you don't have the worst stadium in the country before bragging.

  • You're obviously 100% wrong; but that's just your opinion, so who cares what you think. If you ever look at the annual rankings of every college in the country, Stanford ALWAYS ranks in the top five while cal is always far behind and has NEVER ranked higher than Stanford. So, according to the experts--of which you are not one--cal is NOT far better than Stanford. If you are an example of a cal education, then cal is one of the worst schools in the country. You're nothing more than a sad loser.

  • Hey, in engineering it just depends on the discipline. Stanford has quite a bit larger endowment, fwiw, which makes a big difference in the rankings. So as a Berkeley grad, I have to say both schools are awesome. There is a difference in the type of person who goes to Cal and Stanford, though. Cal is a very dog-eat-dog environment, and nobody is sheltered. Stanford is very friendly and significantly less. I think Cal grads are mentally tougher, but both sets of grads are brilliant.

  • @abbeywood22 Wait, but Georgia is the bitch school, right?

  • Actually the play should define "luck" and "horrible officiating".

  • It's a sorry state of affairs when you call your own mother an idiot.

  • I feel sorry for your mother. She has an idiot for a son.

  • Perhaps you should remove your head from your ass before you watch the video. It is not absurd to say that it was a forward lateral. It's reality. You should try it some time. Leave your parents' basement and see the real world. Also, don't be jealous that you could never get into a top school like Stanford in a million years. All of the cal fans don't seem to be able to make a comment without using childish terms like "lol". Grow up! Even my 12 year-old niece stopped using "lol" two years ago.

  • Stanford hasn't defeated cal in eight years??? Could you please tell me who won the 2007 Big Game? The longest win streak in the history of the Big Game is seven by STANFORD. From 1995 through 2001, the axe resided in Stanford. They also won six straight in the '60s. The most won by cal is five. I checked US News & World Report's 2009 college rankings, Stanford is #4 and cal was down at #21. Nice for them, but cal is never ranked above Stanford except in "Civil Disobedience" where they're #1.

  • I do not go to Stanford and would never apply to cal since I have no desire to spend half of my time at protests. I'm not a debate major like you, but I don't have to be a Stanford student to know that it's one of the top five elite schools in the US and will always rank above cal which is a decent school but not close to Stanford when it comes to education. Coach Harbaugh has the Cardinal program on the way back and the axe will return to Stanford in 2009. Maybe you need to do more research.

  • nice play i think that knee was mabe down tho anyways...GO STATE

  • that one guy passed it forward at about the 25 right before they got to the band...just sayin. but ya, that band guy got trampled

  • That was the end of the game there was no time left during the play
