I have a Martin 12 string that I bought used recently, got a pretty good deal on it probably because the guy didn't want to fix it. The bridge is beginning to lift off of the body, and there is a bulge behind the bridge on the top of the guitar. I've heard that just reattaching the bridge has helped the bulge go away on some guitars, but I don't really understand how that would work. Would using humidity help get rid of the bulge?
@agniveshadhikari No, definitely not. In the other hand, I think you should dehumidify your guitar. The best environment for an acoustic guitar is 45-55%.
would you suggest making this kind of humidity control a routine? i've been worried about my '59 martin. this winter, the heat has been on quite a bit. its really dry air,and the old case i have isn't much of an environment. what alternatives would you suggest to keep things at the right levels?
@thalkettoth ,,, Hi for me ,,i got humidifier and get Hygrometer and monitor at 40% -55% relative humidity in the room ,,,,,another quik fix is to boil water in big pot and put in room ,,also hang wet towel over it and small fan to circulate ,,,this should give you 10-15% more moisture in your room ,, ,,,worked for me ,,till it rained outside and could open windows again ,,,, peace

That owner was an idiot. I'd humidify a $100 guitar, it's like wearing your seatbelt when you drive, it's just a good habit.
