When you were talking about temples being literal houses of the Lord--do you believe that God actually comes down from Heaven and chills out in your temples?
So... you actually believe that God walks around "His" temples? What does he do? Play shuffleboard? Have you ever talked to God when he was at a temple the same time you were?

A special spiritual blessing given to worthy and faithful members of the Church in the temple. It is received in instruction room within the temple. It's a place where we can learn more of the plan of salvation and our part in it.
The angel Moroni is supposed to announce the coming of Jesus. This is quite impossible since Moroni was a human in the Book of Mormon, not an angel. Men are not angels, they are different creations.
In our religion, angels are people waiting to come to earth, or those who have already passed on, which are waiting for the resurrection. So, Moroni was discussed as an angel flying in the midst of heaven in the Book of Revelation. He announced the Restoration of Christ's gospel. Likewise, the statue symbolizes angels announcing the Second of Coming of Christ which will come from the East.
You are correct, this is what Joseph Smith taught. In the Bible men and angels are different creations. God was never a man in the Bible and you are saved by faith, not of yourself, for it is the gift of God. Jesus has paid for all sin without any strings attached.
They're not really strings, but it is conditional. If it wasn't, what's the point of agency? Why even come here if we aren't to repent and learn from our mistakes? We need to prove to God that Christ's Atonement is worth it to us.
We learn more of Jesus in the temples. Temples don't replace Christ. I never said that we gain salvation through temples. We gain it through Christ by making covenants with Him in His temples.
He fulfilled the law of Moses. I don't remember anything about Temples there. Anywho, He was the one who commanded us to build Temples. So I guess you'll have to take it up with Him.
I forgot to mention what the angel Moroni meant on top of most temples. He is not an image of worship. He is just part of the temple. No worshipping goes to him.
Why he is there, and why he is usually found there, I have no idea. But the reason for him is found in Revelation 14:6. We believe that Moroni is that angle flying through the heavens to announce the restoration of the gospel. He faces east to announce the direction of the coming of Christ's Second Coming.

They're not my temples, they're His. And yes, He comes to them.

Do you know how sacreligious that question is? If you have any respect for another person's faith you would never have asked that.
The Temples are God's Houses.

dont forget that the prophet isnt just the oldest apostle, he is called by god. (Though it usually is the oldest apostle)

And I was wrong on the oldest part. He is the apostle that is serving the longest. Sorry, wrong wording.

I was taught at Sunday school that we don't need temples because we have Jesus.

I see. I thought Christ replaced the temple when he died for our sins.
