  • I tried this and found out that I have the balance of a dog in a car omg.

  • what a load of bollock. i dont wana dance i wana exercise

  • angelaskathryn89 is right...the girl cannot stand with her feet like that...stand where it is comfortable...i've been dancing for 10 years...even i can't stand with my feet like that yet...your hips have to be strong enough to turn out from that...not to mention her feet are flat...they need to be lifted in the arches...in the video she is rolling over her ankles...ouchiiieee

  • Holla! Have you thought about intellectus 424 diet (just google it)? Ive heard some incredible things about it and my cousin lost a ton of weight with it.

  • Comment removed

  • that was good.

  • ONE word for this video --- TERRIBLE !

This video has NOTHING to do w/Ballet, especially this guy himself !!!!

Amateur dancer, but could be a good teacher for seniors, retired people, adult classes!

  • OMG, if this guy is a Dance Instructor, then his video needs Oscar...! It's amazing that amateur dancer claims to be a Dance/Ballet instructors!???!

Man, Teach piltaes, yoga, what ever, but please stay away from ballet!

Your arms, man, are first signal --- Actually, you have NOTHIING TO DO W/BALLET, the REAL one !!!

  • Tyler, you are so hot

  • lollll i loved those comments. people this was not a "LEARN TO DANCE LIKE A BALLERINA"-video, it was a "BALLET TONING EXERCISE"- video!!

though i would not recommend that much of a turnout and if you're doing those pop ups, then remember to bring your heels all the way to the floor, because of reasons other people already described here!

  • Yeh your not spose to use your quads in a pleah you are suppse to use your hamstrings because a pleah is a preperation for a jump and when you use your hamstrings to jump you can get amasingly high

  • hahaa!!! awesome!!!! :-)

  • Alguém pode traduzir esse vídeo para o português? Por favor! =)

  • :O no no no no no!!!!!

  • He's not a dancer he's a fake....

  • Ahh if you want to do ballet do not start here... this is a disaster! They are not teaching proper technique at all and I don't believe that he is a dance. I think the worst offenses are the weight on the releves (should not be on the baby toe!!) and the heels not being down on the changements (you will shorten your achilles and could also end up with clunky calf muscles) you need that stretch by putting the heel down after the jump.

  • Lol nice :)

  • it seems like they r reunining ballet

  • omg ppl dont even try to do it you can just injure ur knees 'wide and open as possible' its all about ur turnout muscles

  • What the hell is this? Is a joke. Please don't destroy classical ballet.

  • styyy

  • hes gonna get shin splints

  • hes hot!

  • I AM A DANCER - how the fuck is he a ballet dancer or teacher! DO NOT LISTEN TO THIS VIDEO!!! look at how he let her put her feet, shes going to get get knee problems straight away! pop ups?! do not - "clench in the back"! ballet dancers do not squeeze their bums, we work our turn out muslces just under our bums and in our hips, and omg he balances on his baby toes! and does not put his heels down when jumping - this is a must or you will get shin splints!

  • u r right.. your not supposed to squeeze your butt in ballet... many teachers say this and it is wrong and create bad , hard to break habits for correct ballet.

  • @styace Actually you are suppose to squeeze your butt because it helps you turn out better. It also allows you to work your inner thigh rather than the top part of your thigh so that you dont end up with thunder thighs/really muscular thighs.

  • as a ballet dancer please dont do what they just said. he isnt a very good dancer and if you are going to do these 'pop up' (never heard that in my life) remember to put your heels down after every landing so you dont damage your shins liek those two idiots!

  • as a ballet dancer, I do these everyday.. i also recommend pilaites. They really help to make you a strong dancer.

  • i thought he died.. AHAHAHAH

  • To all the gay bashers: I thank the universe for gays. Without them the world would be a far less enchanting place. I would not want to live in a world without gays. I am a straight woman who honors and appreciates all men and women.

  • <.<

I'm a straight guy that does ballet, paints, writes, sings. I felt so undermined by your statement.

    *sigh*

  • Shakaama, i received this response by email. All I can say is tha both my straight sons are artists. One is a singer. I am a dancer. If you feel threatened and undermined by my saying that the art world is a better place because of homosexuals you have a serious problem. Better check it out. Peace

  • sorry toots, don't patronize me, you specifically hinted that homosexuals somehow have conered the market on the art world AND without them we wouldn't have the finer things in life.

Don't worry. I know it's completely false. OH and i know people actually think that way, for some stupid reason.

  • LOL. You cannot read very well. No where did I "hint" that homosexuals have "cornered the market on the art world". I said the art world is a better place with homosexuals. Sorry your mind is so dense. If I said the world was a better place for containing heterosexual men, does that mean I am demeaning heterosexual women, because I did not mention them.?

You may call yourself an artist, but you have a very tiny little soul.

  • thanks for the insult, woman.

  • it is not my intention to insult you, merely to respond to your comments. You called me "toots" and said I was patronizing you; you describe yourself as being "demeaned" simply because I praise homosexuals. You appear to have very low self-esteem which makes you lash out at others who just want to express their own artistic sensibilities, the same as you. If you don't want to be insulted, try not to snivel so much. Peace

  • more insults. hmmm maybe you're just mean spirited or evil?

  • It is telling that you consider honest feedback to be insulting. Think about it. You take compliments about others to be demeaning to you, and you lash out when confronted by a difference of opinion. It appears that you have a fragile psyche, which is not an insult. As an artist, you are probably hypersensitive. I suggest you give others the same respect you wish for yourself. You might find life more rewarding. Peace.

  • If you really want to lose weight go to: combatingfat.blogspot, com

  • gay

  • doing this in-between heavy deadlift or squat sets would turn some heads :D

  • haha i do ballet and those moves are still fun to do

  • This was an awesome video!!! You should make another :D

  • LOVED THIS! Thanks Sarah!

  • They're are loads of straight ballet dancers, however, this video isn't so much about sexuality, but about a sexy butt, which we can all appreciate.

If you're wondering about this being a "real workout" I definitely want to encourage you to try it out! After 50 plies you'll know what I'm talking about!

Additionally, pop-ups are amazing for building mass in your calves. Its a great plyometric for any guy or girl trying to tone up those legs.

  • Bahahaha oh come on, they couldn't find a straight guy that does ballet? Oh right, there aren't any!

  • argh i hate it when people assume male ballet dancers are ALL gay. Let me put it this way lol:

A boy in a room full of girls half dressed in revealing leotards (ballet)

A boy tackling other boys and perhaps having his head in places the sun dnt shine (rugby)

    which one is really gay!?

  • @OLYMPIAisSPEAKING that's bullshit. neither of them have to be gay. people are gay cus they are, not depending on their activities. i know a rugby player who is a homophobic and i know a ballet dancer (male) who has a gf and has for like 4 years.

  • @PrincessRuba you are correct, but i think you are misreading olympias example. he/she is just saying that there is more of a heterosexual connection in ballet than that as seen in rugby or any male dominated sport.

  • @OLYMPIAisSPEAKING Turkish oil wrestling...my lawd thank the Turks for such a beautiful sport!

  • @OLYMPIAisSPEAKING Ofc your not gay just because you do ballet, but in this case Tyler IS gay.

  • you wear their clothing, possibly have them paint your hpouse, and cut your hair. DONT LET OTHER'S KNOW JUST HOW NARROR MINDED YOU REALLY ARE- IT' WORKS, AND YOU PROBABLY NEED IT OR YOU WOULD NOT BE HERE.

  • tyler is gay?

  • Yes

  • Difficult? This is as simple as it gets! and your pelvis in clearer language is basically your hips. Those bones that jut out on the lower part of your stomach. just try to make the front of your body as straight and tight as possible.

  • I'd rather you post real workout videos, not ballet

  • Ballet is an incredible workout if done properly. By the end of one set of exercises, you should be sweating. It all depends on how hard you work the warm up.

Don't knock ballet. It's extremely difficult, and ballerinas are in incredible shape.

  • I don't prefer extremely difficult workouts like this ballet one. I'd rather to see "normal" workout clips from Sarah.

  • I concur.

  • I think this is one of THE best workout routines I've seen you guys have! Keep up the great videos!

  • Thanks for the link to the article - I actually LOVE Ashlee simpson haha and really liked the heads up. I had not seen it yet!

  • That's a wonderful video - soo useful - thank you!

  • Super great tips!!!

I want so more please ;-)

  • Wonderful. Ballet dancers have the most toned and beautiful bodies!

  • I'm not sure I understand what he means by "pelvis forward." Can someone elaborate please? I know what a pelvis is, lol. I just don't understand how to put it forward...

  • you know when you lie on your back knees bent, feet on the floor and you lift your hips up (aka hip lifts or bridge), think of how your stomach or pelvis feels and try to mimic that feel while standing up. I guess just suck in your navel to you spine type feeling.

  • Oh! That helps! Thanks =)

  • @Soccer7SG Don't let your butt stick out. Keep your back and butt straight. =]

  • you rock Tyler! xoxox

  • That looks like a lot of fun.

  • try first through filth then you get the dancer "look"

  • btw sarah when u r in 3rd posit6ion it will help u better if u bring the foot in front closer to ur ankle it wil help give u better control and have u weight more centred and when u switch ur feet stretch ur legs and point like tyler saids it rly works

  • dancing i belive ei one of the best exercises not only does it strengthen ur lower body it creates flexibility this rly makes ur legs nice and muscular

  • definitely. Dancers -and Swimmers- are in the best physical shape of anyone I know.

  • Tyler is actually a competitive swimmer as well if you didn't already know...

  • I loved this one! It was so different and interesting!

    Favorite parts:

"Sarah, you have amazing toenails" LMAO! That's a line I've never heard before!

And your caption saying "we see you girl in the window! Did you subscribe? If you did, then you would see this!"

Good job with the ballet Sarah! Have you taken lessons before?

  • I think he said turn out. HAHAHAHA

  • LMAO! He said turn? I heard "toes!" LMAO!

  • I think he was saying she has an "amazing turnout" -- she did do a really awesome job though!

  • LOL, yup. I heard "toenails" for some odd reason, lol.

  • I did not have a proper pedicure before the filming bc it's winter and my uggs have been glued on since December 1st. So regardless what he said, they were not in amazing shape! I was mortified when I found out my shoes and socks would not be on them. And I took ballet/dance from like 2-4th grade, and then danced a little bit in college for a few sorority competitions but thats it. I'm just naturally talented at everything - just kidding obviously....

  • LOL. It's all good. :P

  • @Soccer7SG Haha! He tells her she has amazing turnouts - the positioning of her hip as she extends her leg and points.

  • @Soccer7SG i think he said "you have amazing turnout" ;)

  • Hey, this was fun! :)

  • Hey I go to the boston sports club! which one was that?

  • It really seems like he's pushing you out of his way for the second exercise... It's kind of looks like you're going to fall over at some points because of him. :(

  • Tip for finding your proper turn-out: When you go down to a demi-plie, look at your knee caps. If they align with the gap between your big and second toes, you have the right amount of turn-out. The rotation comes from your hip joints, not your knees! Everyone has a different starting point.

  • Thanks! We had Tyler say this but the video was already pretty long so thank you for helping clarify this one :)

  • Really good workout ? but i suspect it's not for begginers whom have no previous dance experience ? lol but awesome none the less ...

  • No no! Anyone can do it! It's super easy and fun - and you can do it really anywhere, i.e. in your kitchen like tyler said or pumping gas is your a dork like me ;)

  • me likey.

  • that was awesome im goig this tonite

  • Thanks! Great! More!

  • Real world key west!!!!!

  • This is incredible!!! Nice to see some change!! Thanks so much!

  • This is great! Thanks for posting!
