One of the things I've always liked more about Reason as opposed to Ableton was the toolbar that allows you to very intricately adjust the parameters of various points. Getting points to be exactly where I want them in Ableton was always such a pain. This is a great tip, not just for tempo changes, but volume, panning, etc. THANKS A MILLION!
Amazing little tip Tom! It really shows your intimacy with Live. I don't think I would have thought of this for a long long time. Now I want to see if I can use this technique myself. Also, nice tease you did there, not letting us hear the complete effect of the tempo warp, ha! Well I have this track's Live Set so I suppose I can check it out myself.
Wow, it's so simple, but an aspect of Ableton that's always driven me crazy, trying to get that tempo shift EXACTLY where I wanted it. Don't know why I didn't think of this myself. You da bomb, Tom Cosm!
A lot of reasons actually. Not just in the area tempo either, but for any automated setting. For one, it's a lot easier to sync with even numbers than decimal points. Aesthetically it can be more pleasing. Main reason I like this concept though is because if I'm working with a lot of changes, it's difficult to get the numbers exactly where I want them to stay consistent. They go to a random series of intervals. I'm very particular about making each sound go where I want them. That's why.
Brilliant!

I personally don't do much with (absolute) tempo changes in mid set, but this advice is definitely useful for when I would.

@thebigkitty
Why would you guys need an exact tempo change anyway?
