His head popped because of the pointy needle. He never realized he had no head until the end of the cartoon.

Um, I got this idea from your Crap Cartoon about Lub Lub's trip to the doctor's, because he couldn't pronounce his f's, t's, and h's. I think Lub Lub and Rick ARE two different characters. They simply look exactly alike, although Rick can be a bit meaner...
