Acharya may "specialize" in religion and mythology, but she also specializes in making things up wholesale. Her claims should be taken with a massive dose of salt, as *most* of the comparisons she draws between Jesus and other mythologies are based on weaselly usage of words with special meanings in Christian doctrine (which sometimes don't at all accurately describe the non-Christian stories).

Easter and Christmas certainly are of pagan origins and Catholicism is to blame for both of them being implemented into modern day false Christianity.
However, Catholicism is not the same as Biblical Christianity. There were always sects that kept it pure. Even the Puritans of Britain fought hard against the Christmas tradition.

Why did Christians feel the need to convert anyone in the first place? Why not keep their beliefs to themeselves? Why not come up with their own Holidays and ideas. Why do they now criticize those of us that are Pagan? So many questions...so few answers!

Easter reflects the Ressurection of Christ Jesus our Lord for Christians, and for others, it represents other things. Easter having a pagan name does not show doctrinal error in Christianity. You really are not making think my religion is pagan. We have proof that Jesus lived, and the Shroud of Turin proves that Jesus ressurected. Also, i wold listen to Catholics not Orthodox Christians.

no one is trying to make anyone think Christianity is Pagan, especially considering the definition of paganism is any non-abrahamic religion. The pont that is being made is simply the number of pagan elements of the holiday, such as the easter bunny and the giving of easter eggs, the same as Christmas has the pagan elements of the christmas tree and santa claus

Oh and no, there is no proof of Jesus actually lived, although I don't doubt there must have been a man (good man like Ghandi or the Buddha) in the middle east that probably had a delusion that he was indeed "the savior". But there are no surviving texts from him, and the people that wrote about him (ie the Bible) never even met him during his hypothetical life. The Shroud of Turin proves nothing. And it could have belong to just any man in that region (maybe during "Jesus times").

Exactly, no proof whatsoever. The biblical texts were written about a hundred years after his death (if he indeed lived at all). If there was indeed a man called Jesus, he would probably be like Ghandi, who knows if he even called himself a savior or God's son, or if legend (and people) attributed him that divine title, like some people say of Buddha, and Buddha was nothing more than a wise, enlightened man.

Why does God allow evil men and women to live? Should He instead kill them before they do evil deeds? Should He judge murderers and rapists now? What about thieves and liars, adulterers, fornicators, those who lust, and those who hate? If God judged evil today, all unconverted men and women would perish under His wrath. And in the case of "satin", if it, he, or she was ever created, I think we as humans would be the ones to create evil (remember something called free will) humans are mean, nasty, greedy, and everything else that could be portrayed as evil. It simply shows an imperfect, childish, God showing nothing more than human emotions. Very similar to Zeus and all these capricious gods all combined into one.

Vishnu has a number of manifestations, including a boar and a turtle, not just a man. He was not killed when he was a man. Jesus was not one of his incarnations; Jesus doesn't appear in classical HInduism at all. The Buddha is sometimes seen as an incarnation of Vishnu, but was an historical person.
Do what Acharya S hasn't done: read a book on the religion you want to talk about. A good start would be Huston Smth's "The Religions of Man." Don't let people like Acharya S make a fool of you.

We mean "Celticist" in different senses. I follow a Celtic pantheon as well. But what I meant was that I am a Celticist in an academic sense. I've studied the Celts at Harvard, and presented papers on the Celts at academic conferences at UCLA, Berkeley, and Harvard; I just had a paper on Cernunnos published in the Proceedings of the Harvard Celtic Colloquium. I've studied this stuff in the origina texts, as well as the scholarly literature. You're getting your information from bad sources.

Greek "Christos" means "anointed." It is a translation of Hebrew "Messiah," which reflected the fact that Hebrew kings were anointed. "Krishna," on the other hand, means "dark." So in order for "Christos" and "Krishna" to be related, a Sanskrit name must somehow have been connected with a Hebrew coronation ritual, all so that eventually when a term from the ritual was translated into Greek the two names would sound alike. There are two groups of Christians. True and false. The wheat and the tares! The vast majority are false Christians, they believe in falsehood, church tradition where much came from paganism from the Catholic church. The other group is a small group of bible believing Christians that hold fast to what the Bible teaches. They observe the Saturday Sabbath, observe the Jewish festivals, and keep kosher. They keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus (Rev 12:17).

Jesus gave us the OX AND DITCH rule allowing one to save life on the Sabbath so putting out a fire is permissible. Even today's Jews would recognise this. No cooking? Jews have 4 meals on the Sabbath. And Christian Law Keepers actually do cook food on the Sabbath, we just dont bake cakes or anything time consuming!

They do not form part of the WRITTEN Torah, but are the oral Law and therefore not binding on Torah Christians. The word Ostara / Easter shares semantic roots with the book of Esther in the Bible, which in turn is based on the Goddess Ishtar / Ashtarte. he word "church" comes from scottish "kirk" which comes from latin "cirke", which comes from greek "circe." thus, church means circe. circe was a greek goddess that would bring people into her home, hypnotize them, turn them into an animal, and eat them. thats where church comes from. a sad etymology, indeed, but true. apropiate, or not. fact is a fact. :)
