Though this isn't the worst game ever made. The things I have to say is that the combat is very dull, theres a lack diraction so you could get lost but the story, characters, graphics, sound and blood and gore are great. But I woulden't rebuy though

ok wait a second, the gameplay was decent and so was the graphics for the time, but the story was awful, they changed kung lao's character into a pussy, ill never be able to let that go, especially sense pussified kung lao has become canon, not to mention that bit where baraka stabs the monk threw the face and gut only to have liu kang or kung lao ask him if hes ok was just embarrassing

i wish that they would make a goddamn sequel to this game. the new mortal kombat is good and all, but the ending to shaolin monks is begging for continuation. my bro and i had so much fun with this game, its not even funny. we played thru it a good 9 or 10 times.

Shao Kahn and co., at least in the Vs mode, would have made this game a 8.5/9 IMO. Using all of them through their own main story would have made this a classic.

@TaylorTV5 Yeah I really loved the game because it was so challenging so you had to make a strategy. Mine was to stay far away and throw projectiles at him...The only flaws in the game were the lack of characters and arenas in versus mode. it should have at least had all 14(Including secret) mk2 characters but it only had 8. Otherwise this is the best MK game unless MK9 Is better which I hope

@derekis007 Sweet! Hahah I was only in 7th grade back then, maybe I can beat him now that it's been 5 years. I remember busting our asses for 2 hours trying to beat him, and when we drained his health bar, there was another stage! And we died and it restarted to him before taking any damage. We got so mad, we rented the game so we had a limited amount of time. But that game was awesome with a friend. :D Fatalities ftw.
