@bukkworm yes akhi its not haram in a sense, but there is a lot of fasaad, corruptiion, and fitna on it. one will not get closer to Allah swt by having facebook if you see what i mean. But it can be used for dawah, i use it for dawah to as there are many muslims on it. Allah knows best

So in effect, you should leave Facebook if you feel its degrading to your faith, but if you feel your able to hold an Islamic perspective for it, leave it... just my humble opinion...

It's a distraction for those who allow. It's not just facebook, it's myspace, Youtube, Hi5, Yahoo, Hotmail, Skype (basically the internet in general). But like anything else, you get out of it what that which you are seeking.
