When southside is onstage no one wants to go home, you just wish the show would go on forever. Anyone remember seeing southside play the wet banana on labor day weekend around '86 in seaside heights, nj? Log flume noooooooooo
Never Go Nuclear ??? Did you not just see the brass section go critical and Johnny steps in and drops the Rods on um ... I saw this live on Imus that morn .. Look at the time -- these guys went off the Richter early in the morn .... just imagine if it was on a Sat night after be'n primed with a opening band .. Un F'n Believable .. Big Thank Q's for posting
Got the live-video from around -90, unfortunately it was recorded when he tried to go commercial, with a "HUGE" producer. But the REAL SJ stuff worked as always. He threw his jacket in song #3, his shirt was soaked after #5, and his jeans was visible soaked to his balls before he walked off the stage! He works as hard as his other friend from Asbury...
@rmilisits I reserve that title for The Good Rats from Long Island. Southside made it as far as national exposure goes. People have heard their songs. The Good Rats only had Taking it to Detroit make it nationally, but never went and toured the country. Shame. They would have been big.
I never get up at this time of the morning, and I don't even have MSNBC on this my dumb-ass Myrtle Beach, SC cable system, so I missed this. thanks a ton for posting this! Southside rawks!!!
FABULOUS BAND!

@123scottsdj
I see the Jukes a lot...and younger people (30's and even a few 20's) love it live.
A lot of dancing.
Don't know if that would translate to hearing it from a DJ.

Maybe you should get your dumb-ass up to N.Myrtle Beach and go to Fat Harolds and listen to this kind of music. Much better than Southside Johnny.
