  • that corvette has headers as well.....sounds awesome. but i like wrx's as well. the only thing stopping my from getting a wrx is that i heard if u beat on them they wont last long...

  • @sergsrt8 I have 113K on my wrx now and it is still running strong!!! As long as you take care of the car and properly maintain it, it will last. since that run, i have made numerous upgrades and the car is still running great!!

  • @spyder5016 yea i know what you mean...i take care of my cars and I do go for frequent oil changes and other things to keep my car running...I maintain my car very well but the thing is once im driving it, i downshift, i always push it, i shift past 6000rpm...i really beat on my cars.....would this car last if i beat on it a lot?...not just MAINTAIN it???????

  • @sergsrt8 I guess the question is it would depend on the car. If you are shifting at red line EVERY TIME you drive the car, i would imagine that no care would last for a long time. My point was that you can drive a car and have fun with it and still be a daily driver. If you want a straight up race car all the time, then you do need another car for the daily use.

  • @sergsrt8 Ive beaten on my wrx since 100 miles, now 125k miles later still running like day 1, still stock motor with bolt ons running 12.30-12.50s all day. 2.0 with Sti turbo.

  • Interesting post commentary. The wrx is my all weather, fun, go play car. My dd is a 1986 accord. Love that lil thing. Cant really see a wrx being a dd cause the mpg. Call me crazy but 25mpg isn't good enough now for me plus its hard not to run the wrx hard...so my mpg is more 22-23 :/ Fuck gas prices! For the other mustang guy, way to dog on this vid for noooo reason. People will be people. Anyway, nice run. Good jump, love the wrx. Ive seen a lot of people w many st 2 setups unable to break 1

  • it's funny how people think its ok to put up a vid of their avg 20k car against something like a vette, or a mustang, and say that they are just as good. its not and its so annyoing. you need to put so much work into a car just to be as good as a vette? thats what makes the two cars different. stay in your own class. because then people start making vids of ricers vs people who arent even racing or lucky races and it creates chaos.

  • Steve, this was open racing at Englishtown. You are assigned a lane and you race whoever is next to you. I put up the vid because that was my best time trial and I wanted to capture it. It has nothing to do with the vette (which had a bad run). This vid was for me only and it did not matter what car I was racing. BTW, a WRX IS in the same class as a mustang or a camaro. Don't be foolish to think otherwise. What camaro or mustang with light mods like mine would run in the high 12's?

  • @spyder5016 oh, my mustang ran a 12.97 with an intake, x pipe, tune, and slicks.

  • @StevenBTT , that's exactly my point. The run you see above @12.704 is my WRX with an intake, TBE, and a tune....that's it. So, your mustang and my car can compete in the same class as I stated in my previous comment.

  • @spyder5016 no it's not, its in like the porche boxter catagory, the catagory right behind my muscle cars, and whatever comepetes with them.

  • @StevenBTT whatever floats your boat dude. I love muscle cars too, but whether you like it or not, the WRX is a great choice. I get 25 miles per gallon, can drive in the snow with my all wheel drive, and I can now run in the low 12s. I would like to see how much money you will dump in your car to run low 12s. Either way, you will keep your opinion and I will keep mine. But, if you ever want to bring your car down to Englishtown, I will be more than happy to see your car and mine run!!

  • @spyder5016 ahahahhahaha nooo dont get me wrong, i love the wrx. the supra and the wrx are the only imports i like. i actually would love to drive one. they are amazing, great handling, reliable cars. but once your running at 130, the lack of cylinders make you slower then a v8. i know it doesnt make sense, but at the same time, its easier to make a v8 faster than a 4, or an H. For a dd, id agree, wrx all the way, but if your really building a car, do it right with a v8.

  • @StevenBTT agreed. but, since I drag the car now, I don't need the V-8. But, you are right for speeds over 130. But, I am not running that kind of a speed on NJ roads because they suck and it will take one bad hole in the road to brake my suspension.

  • @spyder5016 well, i know that, but for a drag car, and i've driven the wrx, my mustang accelerates faster after 80 then the wrx. im just saying, its a quick car, but really, if your just doing dragging with that car, i suggest a project car, they only cost like 6 grand.

  • @StevenBTT at the moment, my wrx is my daily driver and my "fun" car. Once i have some additional funds, I will look into a project car.

  • damn...i have a stage 2 protune and i ran a 14 flat.

  • lol thanks. I think with a proper tune, temperature and timing of the launch, those WRXs can really move.

  • That is incredible for a TD04.

  • that time you pulled was it with a stock td04?

  • yes, stock turbo, aftermarket TBE and a custom tune. Something triggered the 60-foot sensor and so that is not accurate. However, the finish time and trap speed both were accurate. The vette ran a 12.680 and I ran a 12.704. So, he actually caught up and beat me by a nose at the end....

  • wow nice run!

  • DRE!! nice run.
