  • 5:20 - 5:29 the enemy changes formation between the field and battle even though the field formation would have worked and been better for them.

  • I like how the cliffhanger is almost identical to the last episodes.

  • Heh heh, keel kiel, that's pretty funny

  • is the wrong choice always the bottom one?

  • LPers aren't just getting names wrong. Some of them are blatantly dyslexic

  • Considering all of the bad endings, that mean Stocke has already lived through several lifetimes, or atleast several years, Stocke must be really fucking mentally old in the end.

  • @TehFlyingJam Actually, nothing ever suggests his body isn't aging. He might have actually aged several years over the game.

  • I've been playing this game and I love how my play-through is completely different than yours.

  • HCBailly, can you use Trans-turn to have Marco use abilities he can't normally use/hasn't learned yet? If so, wouldn't that make it useful in that you could clone character-specific abilities and get two uses out of them in a single combo?

  • When you have played JRPG's that make you fight doors, houses, walls, lamps and other weird things, giant shields just don't shock you, although I'll be honest,,when I saw the giant shield just now I thought it was a giant merchants sign

  • Surprised HCBailly didn't make a sex joke at Raynie saying "I always feel better when you've got my back"

  • "His name was Robert Paelzen." kudos to anyone who gets THAT reference!

  • 9:39 - "What's happened?"

A little error by the makers.

  • about the sergeant thing... I thought it was just the game to be somewhat realistic. In the times before phones, news didn't spread instantly, so maybe those soldiers just weren't aware or the promotion... or it could be that they hadn't gotten used to the change and were accidentally calling him sergeant

  • Only Stocke could punch 2 or more enemies into the air at once.

  • @16:40 So we have to give the Almanac, er I mean secret documents to Biff, er I mean the commander in the past to change the future in the alternate 1955...

    "Whoa Doc, this is heavy..."

  • Here's another one.

Should I go to the shop and get Raynie some tampons?

    No.

Hmmm does Raynie really need them?

No she can get them herself!

Stocke chose not get Raynie some tampons from the store. Sadly Raynie's visit from her Aunt Flow was quite heavy and lasted for the entire week. Stocke tried to make it up to Raynie but everything he did-didn't seem to make her happy. Sadly the distraction allowed the Granorg Army to invade Alistel and all was lost in a massive bloodbath.

    Crimson Tide

    End

  • Aweman11 had a hilarious comment, i wanna try my hand at this gag.

Hmm, do i want to go out with Raynie?

    Yes

Do i REALLY want to go out with Raynie

    yes

Stocke went out with Raynie, they went to dinner and enjoyed a rather nice meal, Stocke mentioned quiteley to Raynie that his Steak was a little undercooked, little did he know that the Cook overheard him, and the Cook was a Retired Hitman, he laced Raynie's meal with poison and she died.

    Angry Chef

    FIN

  • now i'm really curious whats gonna happen.

  • I think remakes do a nice job of getting people back into the game with some new content ala FFIV remakes.

  • Please tell me Raynie doesn't have a "I'm just a woman, I need a big strong man to do this" moment.

  • I would like to know what happen to Raynie and Marco when Stocke found out that he did not make it in time to save Rosch. Stocke was also talking to himself out loud were the two could hear him. And I know this happens again in other scenes as well...

  • Just an odd bit of trivia: a giant shield like those is called a mantlet. That word probably doesn't appear in any JRPGs, though.

  • Hmm should I go to the bathroom or hold it?

    Hold it.

Do I really have to go?

    No.

Stocke chose to pass on going to the bathroom, during the long time consuming battle he soiled his pants and all of his men including Roche, Raine Kiel, Marco and Viola laughed at him. Dishonorably discharged from the

military Stocke lives out the rest of his live in shame and humiliation and eventually fades from the public's eye forever.

    Brown Streak

    The End.

  • @sbcmarine81 In a ton of shit wads added as an event

  • I totally disagree. Transturn is really useful end game, and, between that and all of Marco's support abilities, he stays as one of the most useful characters throughtout the game.

  • @lecmg Not only that, but he eventually gains access to all four assault types (push, left, right, and pull). I find that to be the best quality about Marco, IMO.

  • "He was right next to you and you left him to die?!"

Correction: YOU, HCBailly, left him to die.

  • If you guess the right option do you still get the node and can you go back and fail?

  • You're acting as if the Wood shield is an enemy... it's a sheild. What do you expect it to do?! Get up and start smacking the crap out of you with rusty nails?

  • @DDTPZX I've fought far stranger enemies in jRPGs before.

  • @HCBailly Did you ever play Earthbound then?

  • @HCBailly The Men's Room Sign used PK Starstorm!

  • @HCBailly Yeah in Tales of Symphonia I fought a spinning block as an enemy...not the strangest I fought but still pretty weird.

  • @HCBailly and if i may ask what is the weirdest enemy you've fought in the massive archive of games you've played?

  • @gurenta Probably something from the Dragon Quest series, like Sacksquatch (pun intended).

  • @HCBailly ive seen somthing far stranger. an apple just walked up to me in a game i played and battle time!

  • @DDTPZX Actually, after Chrono Trigger, that's pretty much exactly what I would expect a shield to do.

  • @DDTPZX What about that house enemy in FF7? Now, that was weird.

  • You became a well renowned and powerful general Game Over

    WTF

  • @goglespit Now that Stocke became general, there was no one to save the world. From... whatever is troubling it, I guess.

  • @42ndIcicle Desertification. A world completely without plants will find its oxygen supply gone.

  • @Ocson Not only plants are reduced to sand, humans and animals are affected by it too. Do you remember that random solider that turned to sand?

If there's oxygen or not is irrelevant, all life would be reduced to sand.

  • @CastlePokemetroid Oh yeah, forgot that part.

  • No the sad part is coming up soon nooooooooooooooooo dammit bob hold it together!

  • Comment removed

  • Well it's official, there will be moogles in Final Fantasy Versus XIII. I just wish square enix would finally issue a release date for this game.

  • Indeed blue may be bad in Zelda and Radiant Historia but your units in Fire Emblem are blue and the red units are enemy units.

  • @Flashflame00 just remember GODDAMN GUARDIAN ACORNS

  • Where are the robots?

    Defending the fortress, of course!

It /was/ under attack, you know.

  • Is the bottom option always the wrong option? I'm starting to see a pattern here..

  • I'm waiting to see just how much HCBailly can twist words to always choose the wrong way first for completion sake.

  • Very fitting title HC. :)

  • Honestly, the only one that may have been 'absurd' is the journal one, and even then there are reasons for it to work. All the others follow a similar theme. Someone dies or is otherwise overly preoccupied down the road preventing them from helping or outright stopping attempts to save the world from the desertification

That's the end goal, is to stop the desertification, not win the war. Currently fighting the war is the means to the end. Just how I see it at the moment.

  • SERGEANT ISN'T A RANK IT'S A POSITION!!!

  • @brigbjones I... don't think that's correct.

  • @HydroGlobus in the military the rank of Sergeant is a non-commissioned officer. Staff Sergeants are typically assigned as a squad leader, but may also hold other positions depending on the type of unit. Staff Sergeants are referred to as "Sergeant" except for in certain training environments and schools.

while it is a rank the squad refers to him as sergeant rather than lieutenant because that is the position he is filling in the squad.

  • @brigbjones I see... Kinda. Thanks for the information.

  • The other nice thing about Trans-Turn is that the User loses his "being red" status, so the user won't take so much damage.

  • More ridiculous? "Should I give Raynie a puppy or a kitten?" X3

  • Wow poor Rosch. I found it odd that no one has bothered to upload all the bad endings to this game other than you so far HCBailly. I try to look them up individually and nothing comes up.

  • I remember in a previous scene Kiel called Stock sergent and lieutenant in the same sentence

  • And now for, perhaps, my least favorite segment of the game. Not just because...you know, but because there isn't a goddamn node for a long ass time.

  • Hmm do I want a turkey sandwich or a ham sandwich.

    Turkey

Do I really want the turkey sandwich?

    Yes

Stoke purchased the turkey sandwich and eagerly ate it. Unfortunately the turkey was a little dry. Unsatisfied with the sandwich Stoke only managed to eat half of it. He was fine at first but when he got hungry later on the battlefield his concentration waned and he eventually fell in battle.

    Bad Sandwich

    FIN

  • @Aweman11 No no no, you got it all wrong!

Stocke did AMAZING on the battlefield and basically single-handedly won the battle... but the world is doomed anyway! HA! Bet you didn't see *that* one coming.

  • @Aweman11 Heavy: SANDVIIIIIIICH!!!

  • @Aweman11 its funny because its true! my favorite bad ending involves Marco and a certain old acquaintance of his, if you know what I mean.

  • @Aweman11

I see what you did there. One thing though is that Stocke never does die in any of the bad endings - he always manages to escape to Historia to try again.

  • @Aweman11 This is an important decision. I'll have to think it over carefully.

  • @Aweman11 You know...I wouldn't have been surprised to see that somewhere in this game.

  • @Aweman11 This game revels in For Want Of A Nail.

  • @Aweman11 I love you now.

  • @Aweman11 Hmmmm should I put my green shirt or red shirt on?

    Green

Do I really want to wear green today?

    Yes

Stocke wore his green shirt and helped morale by providing a refreshing new feel. The army found harder than ever and were able to defeat their opponents. Unfortunately, stock was not fighting his best, due to his weaker garments and died on the battlefield. Despite Alistel's swift victory, there was no one left capable of preventing the desertification.

    Green shirt

    FIN

  • @Aweman11 Nice man!!

  • @Aweman11 Bad Sandwich

has been added as an event, but wait... Stocke is dead so it doesn't matter.

    Game Over.

  • @Aweman11

Oh man, there are genuine tears of laughter. :D

    Well played, well played.

  • @Aweman11

    Best, Ending, Ever.

    Patent it.

  • HCBaily, did Stock get promoted in both timelines or just the one? If so he may still be a Sargent in this timeline.

  • @joshuaamaron No he got promoted in *this* timeline, he's not part of the Rosch Brigade in the other timeline.

  • You'd figured with all the time travling Stocke does, he would have created a Black Hole by now!

  • Watching this LP, I've seen a lot of Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross elements, but now I'm also seeing stuff reminiscent of "Groundhog Day," Stargate SG-1's "Window of Opportunity," Supernatural's "Mystery Spot," and many other Time Loop movies and episodes of many different series.

I half expect to see someone slip up and say something about what Stocke did on another loop...

It also reminds me a bit of red paper clip trading that loops back around to what you needed to do in the first place.

  • @Kraleck small spoiler: Stocke does mention it not too long from now, but nobody has any idea what he's talking about.

  • Trans-turn is realy nice on Marco in my opinion because to be honest in boss fights he can do nothing much else then buff/heal. Ok given he can push/pull in all directions but especially against giant bosses which are "immun" to traps he can just Trans-turn to a damage dealer after he finishes buffing and given there is none to heal.

  • The thing i find funny about that is that they weren't really dead but marco dosen't try to do a thing at all

  • 6:44 I'll take your turn and substitute it with my own!

    I thought a Mythbusters-esque reference would be appropriate :P

By the way, have you considered trying out Final Fantasy XI, now that there is a 14-day free trial for it?

  • Kiel over. Iseewhatyoudidthere :P

  • @klaymeister Kiel or be Kieled!

  • Pretty slick--making you go back in time in the same timeline. I like that, as it's an obvious, "We change the way things happened", instead of some "other timeline affected this" murkiness. Adds more to the story too. B)

  • Kiel looks more hurt, his arm is trapped under rosch's metal arm,Ouch!

  • Alternate title: West Side Story

  • Funny you should mention Chrono Cross in this video, HCBailly; I'm currently watching that LP, and took a break now, just to watch this new video.

On another note: These LPs make me enjoy my lasagna dinner so much more!

  • "Kiel" over... Aagh such bad puns!!

  • I think this game would be cooler is in the battle system , when 2 enemies that meet on the same tile , and they hate each other ie: hunters and prey , they attack each other

  • Why is Rosch's arm on the wrong side?

  • Just in time! I'm off for lunch ^_^

  • Looks like Stocke got his just deserts.

  • Wow! As soon as I clicked this channel, it suddenly appeared. Oh well. This is Bailly Magic.
