@casx2131 I agree. my skin is white and i relate to a white community. but my grandmother is hispanic and speaks spanish (and english). she was raised in a time when beating your children with belts, whips and switches were normal. She was punished that way and was taught to do the same. so with her children, she was harsh...until she learned a different way. she looks back at that now with th most regret and anger at herself and mother. she still believes in spanking, but not beating.

These film makers really get it: instead of long action sequences in which the crazed murderer chases the pretty damsel, they use suspense above all, building up to each little thing with such suspense that it's like mental torture. I, for one, have watched this one before, I've photographic memory so I know what's going to happen, yet I find myself rigid with fear, each second like a minute until finally what I've been waiting for: it happens. I jump, absolutely terrified.

it is excellent the way they use the lack of music to build suspense. i mean, there is never any music except for when something scary (like the HAND!! O.O) happens.

like, i don't know if anyone here has seen no country for old men, but there's no music in that movie at all, which is part of what makes it so good!
