I've heard from a lot of reviews that the PF-9 is hard to shoot well, because of the short sites and the double-action--that it takes LOTS of practice to have reliable accuracy at distances shorter than what you just demonstrated.
What do you think about those claims? How are the sites? Or are you just damned good? ;)
When I bought mine I had no idea how it would shoot. I just wanted a compact pistol, but a larger caliber than the 22, 25 or 380. I read that it was a 10yd pistol or less. But when I began to shoot it I seen how well it shot. The worst thing about it is the long and hard trigger pull. What I do is pull the trigger back 2/3 of the way first then pull slowly the rest of the way. Practicing that sure does help!
damn!! thats a good grouping at 50 yards! im good with a rifle, but im not that good with a pistol. its a lot harder with a short barrel like that. ive shot a 22 mag at about ten yards, and barely hit the target. then i shot a 45 automatic at 20 yards, and that was a little better. any tips on better aiming?
Thanks, my 357 almosts shoots by itself. I never shot a pistol that shoots that well before. You asked about tips? I dry fired my 357 lots of times, even in my house. This can help with flinching. When your shooting a revolver you can keep a couple shells out. When you get to the empty chamber notice if you flinched when the pistol didn't fire. Mainly just practice and control your breathing.
thanks!! i will definately try that next time i shoot a pistol. i love shooting! i doubt i will ever be this good with a pistol tho. im a very good shot with a rifle tho!
I was filming this by myself. I wanted to show the shot and then the target. When we were done with the editing and went to upload it on youtube we found out if you keep the video around 4 minutes or less we had a higher quailty option. So to shorten it we cut out the in between scenes. When I walked to get the next pistol and the loading. If you watch the leaves when I shoot I am aiming at the same location each shot. You can believe what you want though.
Thanks! The 22 and 357 were both bought in the 80's. I believe the 22 cost about $175. and the 357 was almost $400. The 357 will kick 7 inches. You can see that on the video when in slow motion at the end. If you use 38 rounds in the 357 it will kick about 3 inches.
Thanks! The Kel-Tec is worth the price. I only paid $235.00 new! Mine shoots better than the reports say that it would. The worst thing is the long trigger pull. But that is because its doulble action only. For more accuracy, take aim, pull the trigger 3/4 the way back, bear down on the sights and slowly pull the trigger until it fires. Let me know how you like it after you get a chance to shoot it a while.
Nice shooting. I have a similar array of firearms. Love them all. I have the H&R .22, a Ruger P89 9mm, and a Taurus .357, plus a few others. I agree with rlucero79, I love the old tech AND the new.
OUTSTANDING SHOOTING.I DON'T KNOW MANY WHO COULD EVEN COME CLOSE TO THAT.
