It's a joke.

I recently interviewed them and asked them about the Harvard connection: "We try to be nice guys and not be pretentious assholes. But there's also a great undeserving reputation that precedes you."

They go on to say that they're nerds but not geniuses, and they think most people can see past it, but some get hung up on the Harvard hype.

I really used to like them, but now that they´ve become just popular enough to be in the public view, we can see what they really are. Arrogant posers. Their music is great, they don´t need to put on this douchey persona. It´s in all of their interviews.
